Hell has frozen over! John Cena did the unthinkable by turning heel at the Elimination Chamber. On his first Monday Night Raw appearance since kicking Cody Rhodes in the balls and joining the “Final Boss,” Cena broke his silence. The 16-time World Champion broke wrestling’s fourth wall, claiming he isn’t a “babyface” or a “heel” but a human being. He was tired of the “You can’t see me” memes and that the fans didn’t give a damn about the person who is John Cena. If the GOAT of the WWE wins his record-breaking 17th World Championship, what’s next? Here is a shocking yet intriguing answer, along with how it could all play out!

John Cena’s Opponent After Defeating Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania
John Cena essentially sold his soul to the “Final Boss,” The Rock, after winning the Elimination Chamber match, making him the number one contender. He will take on the “American Nightmare,” Cody Rhodes most likely headlining night two of WrestleMania. Most expect Cena to win his 17th Championship, surpassing “Nature Boy” Ric Flair as having the most reigns as champion in WWE history! If this happens, what’s next for the GOAT? Plenty of old rivalries could be rekindled for Mr. Hustle, Loyalty and Respect. Names like Randy Orton, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and even The Rock come to mind. What if WWE Creative went in a different direction? A direction that touches the past and hits on the future!
In this scenario, John Cena is winning his record-setting 17th Championship on night two of WrestleMania. WWE decides to give Cena yet another WrestleMania Moment, allowing him to soak it all in. As much as I would love the following storyline to start that same evening, I think WWE will end the show with Cena and The Rock joining forces yet again in the ring. I mean, why else would the ultimate babyface sell his soul if it wasn’t to cement his legacy into immortality.
Whether it happens the same night or on the biggest Monday Night Raw of the year, the interruption of a lifetime is upon us. As Cena is standing in the ring giving his celebratory promo, things start to get a little strange. The arena goes dark, with a spotlight on Cena in the middle of the ring. A video begins to play on the Titantron (do we still call it that in 2025? Asking for a friend!) A video starts to play featuring the infamous Firefly Funhouse match. The video shows the moment Cena turns heel with the late great Bray Wyatt. As the clip starts to warp and cut off, you hear the beginning of the eerie music.
When the lights shut off once again, a spotlight is now on an empty rocking chair. The Wyatt Sicks is surrounding Cena on the apron of the ring. Out walks Uncle Howdy to renew Cena’s rivalry with Wyatt and The Fiend. The psychological warfare that Howdy can bring to the 17-time champ could be instant cinema!
Final Thoughts
I was a huge fan of Bray Wyatt, and his death hit me hard. The guy was a creative genius and wasn’t appreciated enough while we had him. I think Uncle Howdy has the same potential to do very cool things. Imagine using a Wyatt or Fiend hologram and the mind games that could accompany a program featuring the animated Cena. The “family” could terrorize him for weeks, setting up another unique angle. The Wyatt Sicks had one of the coolest, shocking, and unique debuts in wrestling history. It is time for them to shine and get the push they deserve!
