Vanillite, Pokémon, Pokémon Go, Ice Pokémon

Hello April! Community Day is bringing us a winter treat! Vanillite, the Ice-type Pokémon, will be April’s featured Pokémon for Community Day! Not only is this an out-of-season choice feature, but Vanillite is also super cute! It is an Ice-type Pokémon that looks like an ice cream cone!

While not a Spring-based Pokémon, this choice for Community Day promises to bring a crowd, especially if they missed Vanillite previously. Will you be adding this Pokémon as your first time entry, or will this be a recatch for you? Don’t forget, there will a shiny version available too!

Vanillite: a Cool Pokémon

For newer trainers, Vanillite is an adorable entry for your Pokédex, and for long-term players, it’s a chance to catch another shiny. You may even be stacking up catches of this particular Pokémon for trading and trying for a lucky trade! The exclusive move Weather Ball (Ice) will help Vanilluxe in PvP, if you are considering catching during this month’s Community Day for the move set.

Vanillite was introduced in Pokémon Go in December 2020. The shiny version of this Pokémon has been available in the mobile game since early December of 2023. For newer players, this is a great day to catch Vanillite, shiny or not! At the end of the year in 2020, from December 22 to December 31, you could hatch Vanillite from 5km eggs. You can do the same from June 1 to December 3, 2024.

What and When?

So, when is April’s Community Day going to be? This month’s Community Day will take place on April 27, 2025,from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. What else is going to go on during this monthly event this time? Let’s take a look together!

  • 3x Catch Stardust
  • 2x Candy for transferred Pokémon
  • 3 Hour long Incense
  • 3 Hour long Lure Modules
  • A Special Move: If you evolve Vanillite to its final form, Vanilluxe, your Pokémon will learn Weather Ball
  • A Special Research will be available, called “A Sweet Surprise”

Tips for Community Day

Like with any event in Pokémon Go, it’s important to prepare! Make sure you have enough space for an influx of Pokémon in your storage, and then head over to look at your items. Make sure you have plenty of Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls. Make sure you pay attention to your incubator, and keep eggs constantly in them, because you’ll be walking and moving a lot!

If you plan to take any gyms for your team or do any raiding, make sure you have plenty of Revives or Max Revives! I will add in that it is also important to keep various potions stocked also, especially if you don’t have or are low on Max Revives. Also, don’t forget to take Snapshots, you might just get a surprise encounter!

No Matter What, Have Fun!

Whether you’re looking to get a new Pokédex entry or shiny hunting, just remember to enjoy yourself! Hopefully, you get to meet up with friends, or maybe even make new ones! Even if this is a solo event that just gets you out of the house, have fun! That’s one thing that has remained consistent in my experiences with Pokémon Go since its launch: it has remained fun. Enjoy your Community Day, trainer!
