Vikings

Here it is Vikings football fans. The big day, the NFL Draft starts tonight in Green Bay Wisconsin at 8 pm EST. The draft will run through Saturday and will be held in the lots surrounding Lambeau Field, Titletown and the Resch Complex. Tonight, is the big night of course because this when the NFL conducts the first round of its draft. Fans of every team are anxiously waiting hoping that their squad picks the next Josh Allen or Justin Jefferson.

The scenarios in my previous three mock drafts were a Vikings only with trades, a Vikings only draft with no trades, and an all-NFC North mock draft with no trades. Tonight, I will bring it all home and present my predictions as to whom the team will select with their picks. Minnesota’s general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and team management only have four picks heading into tonight so expect plenty of wheeling and dealing from the Vikings brass.

  • 2025: Round 4, Pick 106

New England Patriots Receive:

  • 2025: Round 2, Pick 35

Round 2, pick No. 38 overall

  • Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan (6-4, 330 pounds)

Two-year starter at Michigan who can play both the traditional and nose tackle positions. Strong run stopper who has room to grow as a pass rusher. Grant has great lateral movement and possesses great speed and agility for a player of his size and strength

Round 2, pick No. 62

  • Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame (6-3, 305 pounds)

Mature and aggressive player with great field vision. Played mostly outside but occasionally moved inside to play the slot. Technically sound, he remains calm and balanced with fluid movements, and he is very competitive at attack point. Smart player who will be an instant productive player for the Vikings.

Round 3, pick No. 77

Oluwafemi Oladejo, Edge, UCLA (6-3, 261 pounds)

This explosive Big-Ten edge rusher has played across the line but with his athleticism and long arms, his future is best served on the exterior of the defensive line. The Vikings can bring him along slowly as learns from All-Pro teammates Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel. Oladejo and Dallas Turner should grow into a formidable pair of bookends for Minnesota.

Round 3, pick No. 96

  • Andrew Mukuba, S, Texas (5-11, 186 pounds)

Finally put it all together at Austin. Struggled his sophomore and junior years as a nickel at Clemson. He aggressively supports the run. Sturdy tackler, he stays low and balanced. Tracks quarterback well and closes quickly on the ball. Should be ready to step in for the Vikings when Harrison Smith retires after next season.

Round 3, pick No. 97

  • Wyatt Milum, G, West Virgina (6-7, 313 pounds)

Four-year starter for the Hokies at tackle, Milum projects as a guard in the pros. Very competitive with strong hands which help him move oncoming rushers away. Agile for his size and already a mature pass blocker. He will need a short time to adjust to the position switch.

Round 4, pick No. 103

  • Cameron Skattebo, RB, Arizona State (5-10, 216 pounds)

A Heisman trophy finalist, Skattebo runs with great power and balance. Knows how to get the tough yardage and runs with mature downhill vision. Productive pass catcher with soft hands. For the Vikings, he will have time to learn behind wily veteran Aaron Jones

Round 4, pick No. 106

  • Chase Lundt, OT, UConn (6-8, 303 pounds)

A former tight end, Lundt is fleet footed for a player of his size. Very fluid with his movements and is disciplined with the use of his hands. Needs to anchor himself better on pass blocking but his athleticism should help with his maturity as a blocker.

Round 4, pick No. 134

  • Tony Horton, WR, Colorado State (6-3, 196 pounds)

Gifted receiver whose is explosive in his downfield running. Great speed with the ability to stop on a dime. Can be deceptive because he executes double moves well. Horton could double as a punt returner at the next level. He will add important depth to the Vikings receiver unit.

Round 5, pick No. 139

  • Jack Kiser, LB, Notre Dame (6-2, 229 pounds)

Kiser was a sixth-year senior at Notre Dame and is a heady, intelligent player. A sure tackle who defends well against the pass. He is below average athletically and his lack of speed will limit him but special teams and third down play experience should earn him a roster spot.

Round 5, pick No. 170

Riley Leonard QB, Notre Dame (6-4, 216 pounds)

Mobile quarterback who is not afraid to power for the extra yard. Throws with good balance and excellent footwork. Leonard was a team captain at both Duke and Notre Dame. Could serve as a long-term backup for Vikings’ incumbent starter J.J. McCarthy
