Trump

Just when you thought Donald Trump could not get any crazier, he defies logic once again. Saturday night, just after 10 p.m., Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social that Joe Biden was killed in 2020 and replaced by a robotic clone. This was a repost from one of his QAnon followers.

Trump’s comments came a day after Mr. Biden spoke to reporters with a status update on his treatment for an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Biden proclaimed that he was feeling good after beginning his treatment. The president has previously theorized that Mr. Biden had been suffering from the disease for some time and that his diagnosis had been hidden from the public.

Trump Blames Biden for Everything

Trump has made it a habit to roast his predecessor to the White House early and often. Among the many claims made by the president about former President Biden is that his aides used an autopen to set policy and issue pardons without Mr. Biden’s knowledge. Ironically, Trump administration officials have revealed that they employ the autopen system from time to time.

Trump supporters were quick to jump on the bandwagon, sharing evidence to support his claims, including that Biden’s eye color allegedly changed in 2020 and also that Biden was replaced because his ear lobes suddenly appeared to be attached to his head. Prior to 2020. they claimed that they were unattached.

They sought to cement the president’s claim by displaying side-by-side photos of Biden from the 1990s and the 2020s to show the difference. There was also a claim that his pre- and post-2020 signatures showed a clear difference. And another outrageous theory was that a military tribunal had executed Mr. Biden.

Trump No Stranger to Lies and Conspiracies

Of course, this is not the first time that the president has engaged in rumor-mongering and outright deceit. Last month, in a meeting with the president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, Mr. Trump claimed that white South African farmers were victims of genocide. Unfortunately, there are two issues with this assertion. First, the image the president used to validate this claim was actually a photo from eastern Congo. And South African police statistics show that white people in the nation are no more vulnerable than other groups.

And who can forget the unproven conspiracy theories that Trump has promoted over the years? There were his repeated false claims that he won the 2020 presidential election, which led to the deadly attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Or his cruel and pointless claim that former President Barack Obama was not born in the U.S.

Or when he and JD Vance insisted during the 2024 campaign that the Haitian immigrants of Springfield, Ohio, were “eating their neighbor’s pets.” And Trump had the audacity to make the claim in his televised debate against Mr. Biden. This after the Republican mayor of Springfield and the Republican governor of Ohio asked them to please desist with these false pronouncements.

Mental Acuity

For all of the talk by MAGA nation regarding Mr. Biden’s mental acuity, it is now clear how much Mr. Trump’s mental capacities have diminished. The mumbling, flights of fancy, and word searches have become too frequent to ignore. And the more this is ignored, the greater chance there will be for catastrophic error to occur as the president’s minions try to appease the aging businessman. But with his grip on the Republican Party, who will stand up and speak the truth?
