Hysilens hsr

Hysilens is a 5-Star Character coming to Honkai: Star Rail in the 3.5 update on August 13th, 2025. Here, we will cover her skills and possible team comps. Here, we will check out the Siern of Nihility and see what she will bring to the comp.

Hysilens’ Abilities and Eidolons

Hysilens’s abilities are made for Damage Over Time (DoT). With that, she follows the Path of Nihility and is a Physical Unit. While she will deal her own DoT, she will also debuff her enemies and ensure they are worse for wear as the battle continues. She will inflict her enemies with ATK reduction, DEF reduction, and Vulnerability. Her abilities are as follows:

  • Zone – When combat starts or her Ultimate is used, Hysilens will deploy a Zone. When a Skill Point is deployed, it will be recovered. While the Zone is active, enemies’ DEF and ATK will be reduced by 10%. While the Zone is up, Allies’ DoT will trigger Hysilens to inflict multiple Instances of follow-up Physical DoT.
  • Basic ATKAeolian Mode: Echoes in Still Waters – Deals minor Physical DMG to a single designated enemy target.
  • Skill – Overtone Hum: Chorus After Dark Tides – Has a high chance of inflicting Toughness Reduction by 20% for a number of turns while dealing 140% Physical DMG.
  • UltimateMaelstrom Rhapsody – Hysilens deploys a Zone that reduces enemy targets’ ATK by 15% and DEF by 25%, and deals Physical DMG to all enemies. Within the zone, Hysilens deals one instance of Physical DoT to enemy targets each time they receive an instance of DoT. This DMG can be triggered when each turn begins or after an ally target’s attack. This effect can only be triggered up to a certain number of times, and DMG cannot repeatedly trigger this effect. The Zone lasts for three turns, decreasing by one at the start of a new turn. The zone will be dispelled if Hysilens gets knocked down.
  • Talent Sirenic Serenade – When an ally attacks, there is a high chance for Hysilens to inflict Wind Shear/Bleed/Burn/Shock – On the struck enemy, prioritizing the infliction of different states of DoT. While under the effect of DoT at the start of each turn, the enemy takes DoT equal to a certain percentage of Hysilens’s ATK for a number of turns. Under the Bleed State of DoT at the start of each turn, the enemy target takes Physical DoT equal to 20% of the unit’s Max HP, up to 25% of Hysilens’s ATK.
  • Technique – At Ocean’s Adobe – After using Technique, it creates a Special Dimension that lasts for 20 seconds and automatically moves forward. Enemies within the Special Dimension enter the “Soulstruck” state. Soulstruck” enemies will not attack ally targets and will follow the dimension while it persists. After entering combat with “Soulstruck” enemies, there is a 100% base chance to inflict each enemy target with 2 of the following states: Wind Shear/Bleed/Burn/Shock, all of which are equivalent to those provided by Hysilens’s Talent effect. Only 1 Dimension Effect created by allies can exist at the same time.

Ediolons

  • E1You Ask Why Hearts Cry – While Hysilens is on the field, ally targets deal DoT equal to 116% of the original DMG. When Hysilens inflicts Wind Shear/Bleed/Burn/Shock on enemies through her Talent, there is a 100% base chance to additionally inflict the target with one instance of Wind Shear/Bleed/Burn/Shock state that is identical to and can coexist with that of the original Talent effect.
  • E2Tell Me Why Waves Roar High – While the Zone is active, the DMG Boost effect from Trace “The Fiddle of Pearls” applies to all allies.
  • E3 Why Do Lights Bid Goodbye – Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
  • E4Lo, How Time Flows By – While the Zone is active, it reduces All-Type RES of all enemies by 20%.
  • E5In Ablution, I Hum and Sigh – Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
  • E6When to Return From Where You Lie – While the Zone is active, at the start of each turn or after one attack by an ally target, it increases the maximum trigger count for Hysilens’s Physical DoT effect to 12. It increases the multiplier of the DMG dealt by 20%.

Traces

  • The Gladius of Conquest – At the start of combat, Hysilens deploys a Zone, equivalent to that provided by her Ultimate, lasting for 3 turn(s). Whenever Hysilens deploys a Zone, she recovers 1 Skill Point(s).
  • The Bubble of Banquets – When Hysilens uses Ultimate, if the enemy target is currently afflicted with DoT(s), all DoTs currently applied on the target will immediately produce DMG equal to 150% of their original DMG.
  • The Fiddle of Pearls – For every 10% of Hysilens’s Effect Hit Rate that exceeds 60%, increases her DMG dealt by 15%, up to a max increase of 90%.

Hysilens’s Team Comps

Hysilens will shine the best with DoT characters. All in all, there will only be a handful of characters. Kafka and Black Swan will be her best friends, especially since Kafka got her buff back when 3.4 started. Kafka can now do a follow-up attack one extra time and can trigger DoT on those hits more frequently. If you have neither, you can always switch them out for Sampo, Luka, or Guinaifen. F2P Nihilty options are limited, just as much as premium options, but hopefully with Hysilens coming out, more will show up in the future.

Supports will include Ruan Mei, Tribbie, and Robin. You want anyone to help Hysilens get her damage up and/or pierce more of their DEF. Sustain Characters will include Gallagher, Luocha, Aventurine, or Huohuo.

Light Cone

Her Best-in-Slot will be her Signature Light Cone, “Why Does The Ocean Sing.” Its effects are the following:

Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 40%. When an enemy target gets inflicted with a debuff by the wearer, there is an 80% base chance for them to enter “Enthrallment,” lasting for three turn(s). Effects of the same type cannot stack. While the target is in “Enthrallment,” for every one debuff applied by the wearer on the target, increases the target’s received DoT by 5%, stacking up to 6 times . When the target gets attacked by an ally, it increases the attacker’s SPD by 10% for three turn(s). When the wearer gets knocked down, removes all “Enthrallment.”

Relic Set, Planar, and Stats

Prisoner in Deep Confinement will be her best Relic Set. The ATK boost and and the 4-Pc set will be completely valuable to Hysilens and especially to her DoT teams.

The Planar Sets will be based on your preference, and basically, what you will be lacking for your build. There are three to play around with, with all three being useful in a Hysilens build.

Stats you want to look for:

  • Body: Effect Hit Rate, or Prioritize ATK if you hit 120% Effect Hit Rate.
  • Feet: ATK or SPD
  • Planar Sphere: Physical DMG or ATK
  • Link Rope: ATK

Substats: Effect Hit Rate > ATK > SPD
