Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender who committed suicide behind bars, is still a hot topic of conversation, especially surrounding the President of the United States, Donald Trump. Democrats from the House Oversight Committee recently released emails showing private correspondence over the last 15 years between an associate and an author in Trump’s orbit. In those emails, Trump’s name is mentioned several times, confirming many people’s suspicions that he was connected with Epstein’s crimes.
Details of The Release
Democrats released the emails on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after subpoenaing Epstein’s estate and receiving records. The emails do predate Trump’s time in office, he did not send or receive them personally, and no criminal charges have been brought against him in connection with Epstein or Maxwell.
Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of sex trafficking following Epstein’s suicide, is shown conversing back and forth through email with author Michael Wolff. The emails include messaging that suggests Trump spent time with a woman who is described as a victim of Epstein’s trafficking crimes, and that Trump “knew about the girls.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt naturally criticized Democrats for releasing the emails and claimed the members “selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.” She continued to defend, “These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again.”
The Emails
CNN independently reviewed the emails and spoke with Wolff regarding the messages to clarify the context and confirm if the people’s suspicions are true. “I don’t quite remember the context. But I was engaged then in an in-depth conversation with Epstein about his relationship with Trump, and this seems to be part of that conversation,” Wolff said.
Among the emails between Epstein and Wolff, one from January 2019, months before Epstein died, they discussed Trump’s claim that he asked Epstein to resign as a member at the Mar-a-Lago Club. “trump said he asked me to resign,” Epstein wrote. “never a member ever. . of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.”
In an email dated April 2, 2011, Epstein emailed Maxwell: “I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump.. (REDACTED) spent hours at my house with him,, he has never once been mentioned. police chief. etc. im 75 % there,” in which Maxwell responded, “I have been thinking about that…” Members of the GOP identified the redacted name as Virginia Giuffre, a strong survivor of Epstein’s who committed suicide in April. The GOP also accused the Democrats of hiding her name since she never alleged Trump of wrongdoing.
Virginia Giuffre
Giuffre referenced her relationship to Trump in the book ‘Nobody’s Girl’, which she wrote before her passing. She said she got a job as a locker room attendant at Mar-a-Lago in 2000 since her father was a maintenance worker there. “Trump couldn’t have been friendlier, telling me it was fantastic that I was there. ‘Do you like kids?’ he asked. ‘Do you babysit at all?’ He explained that he owned several houses next to the resort that he lent to friends, many of whom had children who needed tending,” she wrote.
Releasing The Files
In June 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to state charges of solicitation of prostitution and solicitation of prostitution with a minor under the age of 18 and was sentenced to 18 months in a minimum-security prison. He was released after 13 months in July 2009. The plea deal he accepted faced harsh criticism from the media, stating that they were too lenient on him.
Trump and Epstein’s alleged relationship has faced scrutiny throughout the years, but more recently, since his second term election. He ran his political campaign by releasing the files, but since taking office, the story has changed. However, Maxwell told the Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche she “never witnessed the President in any inappropriate setting in any way.” She doubled down that she did not see Trump at Epstein’s house either. “The President was never inappropriate with anybody,” Maxwell said. “In the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects.”
The delay and denial of releasing the files has led many to wonder, even within Trump’s MAGA fanbase, if he was a part of Epstein’s sick sex trafficking crimes. People made it their own mission to seek the information, which is why the House Oversight Committee requested Epstein’s estate. They were successful in obtaining emails, but there is another effort underway to force a vote within Congress to release more US government files.
