Rise to Fame
De la Rosa began her rise to fame through social media as an influencer; her Instagram account currently sits at 43,000 followers. She released her first song, “No me llames” (“Don’t Call Me”) in August under her artist name DELAROSA. Her latest and final post on Instagram features the beautiful young woman, relaxed on a burnt-orange suede couch, with an electric guitar on her lap. The caption read “Ocupada cocinando en el Stu,” meaning “Busy cooking in the Stu[dio],” implying she was working on more music.
Community Reaches Out
Many are distraught over the tragic news of a young woman being senselessly murdered on the street. People have left messages in her comment sections expressing grief for the loss of an up-and-coming musician. Several members of the Latin music community commented, voicing their grief, including music producer Jimmy Humilde and the lead singer of Los Gemelos de Sinaloa, Juan Moises.
Latin music producer and engineer Times J Martinez wrote a message in Spanish about how incredibly talented and young De la Rosa was. She had her whole life, her whole career ahead of her, and it was selfishly taken from her. “Me duele que alla sido con violencia,” he wrote, or “It hurts that it happened with violence.”
A relative of De la Rosa, Deyanire De La Rosa, shared several Instagram messages of those paying tribute to the victim. Devin Christiansen wrote he “couldn’t be thankful enough to have met her at a time when I was at my lowest,” because the singer helped him jumpstart his career.
“I am truly sorry for your loss. God has received an angel. I remember how much you would talk about her future and how proud of her you were. In this time l ask for all of you to pray for her and the family. No words can ever express this type of loss and pain. God, I ask you to lay your hands on this family and guide them through peace,” he added.
