Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves notch their 25th win on the season after a 131-122 win over Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers. That wasn’t the only thing that was important on the night. Ant became the 3rd fastest player to hit the 10K points mark.
Edwards 10K Achievement
Hitting the 10,000 point mark is nothing to skim over. There have been plenty of players who have never even sniffed it, but most good-to-great players breeze past it. The Timberwolves’ star becomes the 3rd-fastest player in NBA history to reach the milestone, only behind LeBron James and Kevin Durant. It’s great to see these achievements come in the form of wins, too.
T-Wolves Beat Cavaliers
After trailing the Cavaliers by nine in the 2nd quarter, Minnesota turned it up. They smothered D-Mitchell and Cleveland in the opening frame in the second half. Ant-Man and Julius Randle would outscore the entire Cavaliers’ roster 23-22 in the 3rd quarter. The Timberwolves would cruise in the frame to a 20-point lead. We all know Chris Finch has been a monster when it comes to second-half adjustments.
Minnesota would have four players finish with 20+ points, as this was an all-hands-on-deck performance. This win extends their winning streak to four in a row, including five of their last six. They have all the makings to be one of the best teams in the NBA. Your superstar, Edwards; a great complementary piece, Randle; and dominating defenders in Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert.
