Fernando Mendoza, NFL Draft, Indiana Hoosiers

The Indiana Hoosiers have been dominant in the first half. Many people had questions for Indiana entering the College Football Playoff. They have silenced all doubters thus far. We are at halftime of the Peach Bowl as they are taking on the Oregon Ducks, and it has been all Hoosiers in this one. Let’s look at some key takeaways from the first half.

Hoosiers’ Dominating Defense

The first half was a testament to a smothering defensive performance. The Hoosiers scored 21 of the team’s 35 points off the Ducks’ turnovers. The Peach Bowl started with Dante Moore throwing a pick-6 to D’Angelo Ponds on the first play of the game.

Fernando Mendoza, you are a future Las Vegas Raider. I am sold on him being the face of the Raiders for the next 10-13 years. He has shown his mobility and ridiculous accuracy in the first half. He’s currently 10-11 passing for 110 yards, three touchdowns, and two carries for 12 yards. Best player in college football this season, by far.

Expectations for Second Half

An emphatic beatdown. This game has been Indiana making a statement against the rest of the country. They are telling everyone that they are the best team in the country, without question. Knocking off Ohio State, dominating Alabama, and now beating the brakes off the Ducks it will take a Herculean effort from the Hurricanes to knock off this team.

Stay tuned after the game for full post-game analysis after the score is final. Do you think it’s a foregone conclusion that the Hoosiers will win the National Championship, and is Mendoza the biggest lock to be the number one draft pick since Trevor Lawrence in 2021?
