The Baltimore Orioles have announced that they will treat the fans to a Tupac bobblehead night on May 8th against the Athletics. If you think this is strange, you are not alone. You may be wondering why the hell the Baltimore Orioles are paying tribute to the legendary West Coast rapper. Well, some people may not know that as a child, Tupac lived in New York, and at the age of thirteen, his mother moved the family to Baltimore, Maryland. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the rapper getting fatally shot.
The Orioles will do their best rendition of “Troublesome ’26” when they honor the creator of “Thug Life.” Now again, you may think this is an unusual flex for the city of Baltimore and the Orioles organization, but then you start to think, “How Do You Want It?”
When Tupac left the East Coast, he moved to Oakland and resided in the Bay Area. The Athletics formerly called Oakland home before their travels down to Sactown, on their way to Vegas. The A’s will call Vegas home starting in 2028, the same city where Pac was infamously gunned down after a Mike Tyson fight. So the opponent makes sense, right?
