The 2026 Oscars won’t take place until March, but at long last, we can all stop predicting the 10 Best Picture or five Best Actress nominations. They’ve finally been revealed, almost bringing an end to the seemingly endless awards season. Here’s what got nominated and what was surprisingly left off the ballot.

The one everyone was waiting for, Best Picture, has been revealed:

Best Actress includes Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), and Emma Stone (Bugonia). For Best Actor, Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent), Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), and Michael B. Jordan (Sinners).
Best Cinematography will go to Train Dreams, Marty Supreme, Frankenstein, One Battle After Another, or Sinners. The Best Supporting Actor category is stacked:

Best Director nominations for the 2026 Oscars are Chloé Zhao for Hamnet, Josh Safdie for Marty Supreme, Paul Thomas Anderson for One Battle After Another, Joachim Trier for Sentimental Value, and Ryan Coogler for Sinners. Best Editing comes down to F1, Sinners, One Battle After Another, Marty Supreme, and Sentimental Value.
Best Original Score nominations are for the following films at the 2026 Oscars:

In the writing category, Best Adapted Screenplay is down to Bugonia, Frankenstein, Hamnet, One Battle After Another, and Train Dreams. For Original Screenplay, Blue Moon, Sinners, It Was Just an Accident, Marty Supreme, and Sentimental Value are going to duke it out.
KPop Demon Hunters, Zootopia 2, Arco, Elio, and Little Amélie or the Character of Rain are nominated for Best Animated Feature. Best Original Song is a pretty stacked group as well:

The Best Casting category is brand-new, and the debut nominations are Sinners, One Battle After Another, Hamnet, and The Secret Agent. For costume design, Avatar: Fire and Ash, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, and Sinners are up for the 2026 Oscars award.
Major Snubs?
There actually aren’t a ton of snubs from the 2026 Oscars, at least not compared to most years. There are always misfires, but the Academy seems to have mostly gotten it right this time. Jesse Plemons was overlooked for Best Actor, and The Life of Chuck deserved the Best Picture nomination over F1. In fact, a few movies should’ve probably been put in over F1.
Additionally, Delroy Lindo for Best Supporting Actor is not a bad nomination, but I’d wager that Miles Caton was much better in his debut acting role and deserved the Sinners nomination for that category. I would also strongly have considered Chase Infiniti over Teyana Taylor from One Battle After Another for that same reason. 28 Years Later getting nothing is a huge miss as well.
Conclusion
The 2026 Oscars will commence in March, so until then, these actors, directors, and more will campaign their lives away to try and win the awards and convince the Academy of their worth. That said, it is a huge honor just to be nominated, which all of them are.
