What a finish. The Chicago Bulls find a way to pull out a gritty 120-115 win on the road over the Minnesota Timberwolves. It appeared the T-Wolves were going to pull away with it after going up 115-111 with a minute and a half left. Clearly, that wasn’t the case. Let’s dive into the Bulls’ big-time win.

Bulls Wild Comeback

In the opening frame, Minnesota would jump out to a 14-point lead. For a below-average Chicago team, it appeared that they would cruise to an easy double-digit win. There is no shot worth 10+ points. How do you make double-digit comebacks? Start by doing the little things, hustle on defense, rebound, and win the next quarter. Chicago won the second, third, and fourth quarters after trailing 32-26 after the first.

How improbable was this comeback? There was a five-minute stretch where Chicago didn’t make a single shot in the 4th. Going that long in any game without making a shot is a recipe for disaster, much less the final frame. Coby White and Jalen Smith would turn it on and score 16 of the team’s 27 points in the 4th quarter.

What Happened T-Wolves?

Their superstar, Anthony Edwards, would go ice cold. Almost as cold as it is in Minnesota. In his eight 4Q minutes, he shot 2/8 and 0/5 from three, including the game-tying shot. For a player who has had big moments in his young career, these moments will continue to grow him into the face of the league player he has the potential to become.

Final Thoughts

That was an exceptional game during NBA Rivalry Week. I didn’t expect the Bulls to stay as hot as they were over the first couple of weeks of the season. However, their slow drop-off is just the makeup of a young team. As for the Timberwolves, they are in the midst of a four-game losing streak. Do you think the T-Wolves can get out of their funk and make a run?

As always, thank you so much for checking out my thoughts and instant reaction to the Chicago Bulls storming back in the 4th to knock off the Minnesota Timberwolves.
