The Boston Celtics have stormed back from down 21 points at halftime to defeat the Miami Heat 98-96. It seems as if the luck of the leprechauns was on the side of the C’s tonight. Coming back from a 21-point deficit is an impressive feat. The entire season the Celtics have had is impressive. Let’s dive into tonight’s win.

Celtics’ Roaring Comeback

This was an impressive night for the C’s. If you had told me Boston would score only 38 points in the first half, I would have told you the Heat would pull their starters midway through the 4th. Joe Mazulla’s team would start the second half with a different energy than what they showed in the first half.

From the 7:13 minute mark to the 10:03 minute mark, Boston would go on a 32-9 run. It would be Derrick White who came up in the clutch for the Celtics, hitting the game-winning three with 1:31 remaining as both teams wouldn’t score the rest of the game.

Reaction

This goes to how the Miami Heat’s lack of high-end talent costs them at the end of these games. They sit 27-26 on the season and had a great chance to jump in the Eastern Conference standings with a win over the Celtics tonight. If they had had a player in the realm of Jaylen Brown, who had 29 points and seven rebounds tonight, they would have sealed the deal.

Final Thoughts

Payton Pritchard left his mark on the game as well, with 10 of his 24 points coming in the final frame. It seems as if every time the C’s need him, he shows up. What did you make of the blown lead? Can the Celtics make a run at the East despite missing Jayson Tatum?
