To the surprise of no one, the Baltimore Ravens are picking up wide receiver Zay Flowers’ 5th-year option. The two-time Pro Bowler has had an excellent career thus far since getting drafted by Baltimore in 2023. His team’s option is valued at $28 million for the 2027 season, and a contract extension is probable within the next year. Let’s dive into Flowers’ career and what his next deal could possibly look like!
Ravens Pick Up Flowers
Since arriving in Baltimore, Flowers has been one of Lamar Jackson’s favorite weapons. The 5’9 receiver has been extremely dynamic after the catch. In his three seasons, he’s improved every year and is coming off his strongest campaign. In 2025-2026, Big Play Zay caught 86 passes on 118 targets for 1,211 yards and five touchdowns. He also had 62 yards rushing on 10 attempts and scored a rushing touchdown.
What Will His Extension Look Like?
I wouldn’t be shocked if the Baltimore Ravens gave him a similar contract to what the Pittsburgh Steelers gave DK Metcalf or what the Detroit Lions are paying Amon-Ra St. Brown. Somewhere around the $30-$33 million range. Do I think he is better or should be making more than those two guys? Absolutely not. Will he crack the $35 mill range? Hell no, and nor should he. I think he’s a fine player, but if you pay a receiver $35+, you have to be in the Ja’Maar Chase, Justin Jefferson class. He’s not that.
Final Thoughts
This was a no-doubter move by Baltimore. You keep your number one receiver in-house and continue to work on a long-term extension. What do you think the Ravens’ expectation for Flowers is next season? Lastly, how much do you think Baltimore will pay him in his next contract?
