2582

Within the past week and a half, time traveler stories have resurfaced, and a few new ones appeared with a person claiming to be from the year 6000. The year 2582 has reappeared five years later for one 2026 prediction.

TikTok user @thetimetraveler2582 foresees a worldwide event appearing at midnight on Jun. 6. The date is only two weeks away for a planet blackout. However, other time travelers who claimed to originate from the future year were not always accurate or were later debunked after the predicted period had passed. Here are a few predictions these users hypothesized.

Travelers from 2582 Believed Astronauts Would Discover a New Planet in 2021

According to Distractify, the futuristic visitors predicted that astronauts would find a new planet on May 8, 2021. TikTok user @AuthenticTimeTraveler popularized the hypothesis in a video they posted in March, and it went viral on May 1.

The time traveler said, “Attention. This video is not a joke. I am a real time traveler from the year 2582. On May 8th, 2021, astronauts will discover a planet exactly like Earth, in our solar system.”

This prediction coincidentally was made a year after the then-NASA intern Wolf Cukier. The young space enthusiast participated in a 2-month observation program with the Goddard Space Flight Center. His job was to survey for planets with the space telescope, the Transit Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS).

On Jan. 15, 2020, the BBC confirmed with NASA that Cukier spotted one 1,300 light-years away from Earth. Cukier’s discovery aided NASA with its 2021 exoplanet discoveries, but none provide an inhabitable environment suitable for Earthling survival.

No Sign of Alien Contact in 2024

TimeTraveler2582 compiled numerous dates for late 2024 and 2025. Some of these were bizarre, such as the Dec. 2025 meteor crash: “On December 12, 2025, a small meteor containing antimatter hits the Earth. [People sell it at $64.5 trillion per gram].” This quote sounded familiar to Don’t Look Up’s fictional tech billionaire, Peter Ishwell, who believes the killer asteroid contains valuable metals.

Another fun one involved the release of the long-awaited action game, GTA 6: “On October 25, 2025, Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on the PS5 and PS5 Pro.” The Grand Theft Auto community is still waiting for the game’s official release, even after Take-Two Studios fired its AI division.

One major question that many of these proclaimed time travelers hear the most is when will humanity meet extraterrestrials. The future Earthling foresaw that on Aug. 27, 2024, space aliens would contact Earth. He said, “A mysterious gate is discovered in a cave. It is closed but will be opened. It will lead to an alternative universe with a new life form discovered, some of which will be brought back to Earth.” Alas, no ETs in sight.

What to Know About the Jun. 6 Blackout

Now, in the year 2026, TimeTraveler2582’s prediction from 2021 resurfaced. The Daily Star reported that the TikTok user informed social media about a possible worldwide blackout.

Unlike the previously mentioned dates, Jun. 6 had a specific timestamp: “Starting at 00h00 (12 AM) UTC, the Earth will enter three days of darkness.” The hypothesis returns on Apr. 26, two weeks before the foreseen event. Oddly enough, the three days of darkness have been prophesied for centuries by the Catholic Church.

Deacon Scott Maentz explained that this story teaches private revelation. Public revelation is about spiritually connecting to Jesus Christ using the Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition as a moral compass. Private revelation removed the Sacred Scripture and teaches the Catholic faith based on timing. It is often criticized for twisting the Gospel.

Legion and The Mist have taken the three-day concept to horror what-if scenarios, and the similarities are shown. Their cast will have a religious believer who will chastise others for not believing in God. For the duration of the disaster, monsters will hunt for whoever wanders into it rather than patiently waiting. For the prediction, it is highly unlikely without scientific evidence.
