Small-time actor Nick Pasqual was sentenced to decades behind bars for the 2024 attempted murder and sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend, makeup artist Allie Shehorn.
The nearly fatal incident came days after Pasqual was released from jail for a separate alleged violent fight with the victim. Sherhorn survived the latter attack but suffered from more than 20 stab wounds.
Sherhorn fought hard for her life, and her empowering testimony is what brought her justice and ensured this will never happen to another woman again.
Violent Criminal Charges
The actor who appeared only once on “How I Met Your Mother” was sentenced to 32 years to life in prison on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. At the beginning of May, Pasqual was convicted on all counts, including one count of attempted murder with a deadly weapon during a domestic violence incident.
The other charges against him include forcible rape, felony injuring a spouse, fiancée, or partner, and felony first-degree burglary with a person in the home.
First Attack
Prosecutors claimed that the actor entered his ex’s Los Angeles home in May 2024 around 4:30 a.m., and “inflicted great bodily injury upon the victim under circumstances involving domestic violence.” Sherhorn took the witness stand during his trial, showing scars from the incident on her arms and neck.
Sherhorn took out a restraining order against Pasqual when the relationship became abusive. Before they broke up, she detailed the fight the former couple had, where he was violent and aggressive.
“I locked the door, and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open, and I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there’s another lock on that door,” she testified with tears falling from her eyes.
Pasqual was arrested following this incident and placed in jail on a $50,000 bond, which he made, and was ultimately released five days before the attempted murder.
Nearly Fatal Attack
After they officially broke up and were no longer seeing one another, prosecutors said that Pasqual broke into Sherhorn’s home and proceeded to stab her over 20 times. When Shehorn was found, she was lying in a pool of her own blood.
Pasqual, on the other hand, fled the scene, believing he had killed her, and was captured at a border checkpoint in Texas.
In a GoFundMe made on the victim’s behalf, they pleaded for help, detailing the critical condition Sherhorn was in. She had to undergo multiple surgeries to reverse the damage inflicted on her, including repairing severed tendons in her right arm and neck wounds.
“Allie Shehorn miraculously survived and courageously stood before her abuser in court to testify about the brutality she endured,” District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said in a statement. “Her trial testimony was crucial in securing a guilty verdict so Mr. Pasqual could no longer be free to hurt anyone else.”
Career Credits
Shehorn is a well-known and accomplished professional makeup artist who has worked on various projects, including Obsession (2025), The Mannequin (2025), Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire (2023), Mean Girls (2024), and Fall (2022).
Pasqual, on the other hand, has appeared in several television series and a few movies, but does not have notable or recurring roles. He did appear as Thresher in ‘Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire,’ which Shehorn was working on in 2023, and presumably when the couple began their relationship.
Other than that, the 36-year-old actor has an unmemorable appearance and will no longer appear in any films or television series because he will more than likely spend his remaining days in prison. If he were ever to be released, he would never be allowed to work in Hollywood or on set again.
