Chiron has entered Taurus and starts a new healing journey.

Today, Chiron moves into Taurus after being stationed in Aries since 2019 (and its first time in Taurus since 1984). This new journey we’re entering is going to force us to address the inner wounds that are even too hard to write in our diaries. Chiron asks us to recognize how we move when we’re afraid, believe we are lacking, or when things don’t go as planned. What are your emotional triggers?

The good thing about this transit is that it’s not all about shadow work and addressing the skeletons in the closet. Taurus is an Earth sign and is known for not being shy about indulging in what makes them feel good. Now is the time to redefine how we feel about ourselves, healing our connection with earthly delights, and our relationship with money.

Who Is Chiron

In Homer’s epic poem, the Iliad, Homer writes that Chiron was the “wisest and justest of all the centaurs.” He is often associated with pharmacy, medicine, and surgery. The name “Chiron” means “hand” (Greek, kheir) or “skilled with the hands,” and is related to our “surgeon” (kheir + ergon, “handworker”). It’s fitting because although Chiron was considered a healer, he is often referred to as “The Wounded Healer,” because he could heal others, but couldn’t heal himself. He turned his pain into wisdom.

Chiron (in astronomy) was first discovered in 1977, and it was classified as an asteroid. In the years since, it’s been classified as part of a class of celestial bodies orbiting between the asteroid belt and the Kuiper belt. It’s sometimes referred to as a dwarf planet like Pluto.

Chiron in Taurus

For the last several years, Chiron has been in Aries, the sign of identity, the self, and the personal. So, the “wound” has been sitting right on top of how people see themselves. We were asking very personal questions like, “What’s wrong with me, ” “Why can’t I figure this out?” and “Why haven’t I reached my goals yet?”

Taurus is different because it’s ruled by Venus. Now we’re reflecting on what matters to you and what you consider yours. So as Chiron moves through Taurus, the wound starts showing up less in your sense of self, and more in your relationship to what you value and whether you feel like you deserve the things you have and desire.

For Cancers, things are about to get a whole lot easier. Not only because it’s almost our season, but Chiron in Aries was hard-hitting to say the least. Especially when it comes to matters of career. Layoffs, pay cuts, and conflicting feelings about what you’ve been doing for money were all themes for Cancer during Chiron in Aries.

As opposed to what you’d rather be doing to support yourself, In Taurus, Cancers can expect a little weight to be lifted off their shoulders. Things are about to get more social for you, and the possibility of meeting new friends is high.

Don’t forget though, Chiron is all about healing the parts of ourselves that we find unlikeable. Although meeting new people and new places is exciting, during Chiron in Taurus, it also means addressing your insecurities when it comes to social groups.

Words to Remember

Taurus rules your 11th House with Cancers. The 11th house represents groups, networks, alliances, and long-term dreams. Chiron will expose where you feel like an outsider while simultaneously giving you the discernment to recognize what chosen family looks like. For this transit, every zodiac sign should all follow the words of professional astrologer Alice Smith:

Ultimately, Chiron tells us how we can turn pain into wisdom by being our own therapist and healer instead of waiting for someone else to fix us.
