Everyone’s favorite Hot Girl, Megan Thee Stallion, is coming out with an original anime series and has teamed up with the producer of “The Boondocks,” Carl Jones. The Houston rapper has described the show as high-energy, featuring intense action, distinct character development, bold fashion/hairstyles, and a style unlike anything previously seen in anime.
Not much else is known about the anime series, but we do know that it will be entitled “Hottie” (like her fanbase name), it will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime, and that Megan Thee Stallion is absolutely the right person to have her own anime.
Who is Megan Thee Stallion and Carl Jones
Megan The Stallion is a three-time Grammy award-winning rapper from Houston, Texas. Although her career began in 2016 with the song “Like the Stallion,” from her independent mixtape Rich Ratchet on SoundCloud, she gained momentum in 2018 with her second mixtape, Tina Snow.
Known for her raunchy lyrics that boast female empowerment, freestyles that make you hit the “hurt face,” and a raw honesty that’s relatable to many, Megan Thee Stallion has become one of the most-streamed rappers today.
Carl Jones is a force in animated TV comedy. He is best known for his work as Executive Producer, Head Writer, and Director of Black Dynamite: The Animated Series and Co-Executive Producer of Adult Swim’s The Boondocks. The Boondocks (created by Aaron McGruder) is the first Cartoon Network program to win a Peabody Award and be nominated for a NAACP Image Award, and is based on the manga-influenced comic strip.
Everything We Know About “Hotties” The Anime
As mentioned, not much is known about Megan Thee Stallion’s new anime, “Hotties,” but we do know that the “NDA” rapper is a long-time fan of anime herself. On numerous occasions, she’s been seen cosplaying as a beloved anime character, and has even mentioned anime in her lyrics and has anime-inspired music videos. Like her track “Neva Play” featuring South Korean rapper, RM.
Her third studio album, Megan, featured another anime-inspired track that was a smash hit amongst Jujutsu Kaisen fans. The song, “Otaku Hot Girl,” featured numerous references to the anime and even a sample from the anime itself. Megan Thee Stallion attended the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Tokyo, Japan, in 2024, where she served as a special presenter and announced the major award for Anime of the Year (which was Jujutsu Kaisen).
The Excitement is Building
News of Megan Thee Stallion getting her own anime series began to make its way through the grapevine in October 2024 when she said that an anime series is “definitely on the way” while on the social audio platform StationHead. In addition to the anime project for Amazon Prime, she is also developing a series for Netflix.
Although the rapper has been very hush hush about both projects, she was practically ready to burst while speaking about the anime at last years DreamCon where she spoke at a panel entitled where she spoke at a panel titled “Power and Creativity: Building a Brand That Moves Culture with Megan Thee Stallion.”
Megan Thee Stallion has her own swimsuit line, tequila brand, and has even expanded her partnership with Popeyes and become a franchise owner of the chain. She opened her first official location in South Beach, Miami, which features custom decor, exclusive staff uniforms, and items belonging to the artist herself. Needless to say, the artist adding an original anime series to her list of to-dos is not only highly anticipated by fans, but is another reason Megan Thee Stallion will be a household name for years to come.
