Lindsay Clancy’s former husband, Patrick Clancy, will appear alongside his new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, on 60 Minutes this Sunday, September 20, 2026. This will be the first time that Patrick has spoken out since Lindsay’s case ended in a mistrial, and those tuning in hope that they will be asking the hard-hitting questions.

Patrick Clancy Discovers His Slain Children
Lindsay Clancy was a mother of 3–Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and Callan, 8 months–and accused of strangling them with exercise bands in their Massachusetts home on January 24, 2023. Shortly after the children’s deaths, she attempted suicide by slicing her throat and wrists before jumping out of a two-story window.
Patrick is the one who discovered his former wife lying in the snow outside the front of their home. He testified at her trial that when he asked about the children, all she said was that they were in the basement, but made no mention that they were already dead.
Patrick called 911, and with them on the phone, he went to find his children. He stumbled upon a horrific scene; something no parent should ever have to see. In a sneak-peek clip from the 60 Minutes interview, the father revealed that he often speaks to his deceased children. “I ask them for help, all the time,” Patrick said.
When asked if he thinks they help him, he responded, “I like to believe they do. It’s a way I stay connected to them.”
Murder Trial
Lindsay Clancy was charged with three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the killings, but pleaded not guilty by lack of criminal responsibility. Although it is controversial, she admitted to killing her children on more than one occasion, and the trial was meant to prove that she had no control over her body, as she claimed to be suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time.
She largely claimed that she was failed by multiple medical providers whom she sought out for help regarding her mental health concerns, including her suicidal ideation. While the doctors who testified did not recall her admitting she had homicidal ideation, her husband Patrick and her mother testified that she confessed to them that she had thoughts of harming her children.
In an 11-1 split at trial, the judge declared a mistrial, and prosecutors must now decide whether to retry Lindsay. Many jurors came forward after the trial concluded, explaining that most wanted to find her not guilty, but the lone holdout juror could not set aside his personal bias.
Conspiracy Theories
Multiple theories explain what happened to the Clancy children, many of which suggest Patrick Clancy played a much larger role than he let on. Several inconsistencies in his testimony alone led many to question how much truth was in what he said.
First, he stated that Lindsay spoke to him while she lay paralyzed in the snow, but her throat was later found to have been crushed. The 911 call that was played in court with Patrick on the phone and Lindsay in the background also proved she was only making gurgling sounds, but the prosecution claimed that while they may not understand, Patrick did.
He also testified that he found his children with the exercise bands still wrapped around their necks like a shoelace without the bow, and he removed them to perform CPR. However, during a demonstration at trial, it was shown that the exercise bands sprang apart and would not stay tied.
With the conspiracy surrounding Patrick Clancy, many want to hear his side and how he is handling the criticism he is facing. But they also want to see him asked the tough questions since many believe that he is the one who truly killed his children.
