Pope Leo

Since taking the mantle of Pope, Pope Leo XIV has repeatedly demonstrated that he does not abide by favoritism and politics. The once-entrusted AI producer, Anthropic, attempted to persuade the Catholic church leader that Claude can be used to boost religious morale back in May. Months after their failure, Pope Leo sees AI misuse surging and rings the alarm for a rebellion.

Pope Leo Advises Urgency on AI Takeover

The Catholic Church’s head has grown aware of how fast artificial intelligence has become a powerful tool, for better and for worse. He publicly became appalled by tech CEOs and world leaders when Anthropic’s co-founder Christopher Olah visited the Vatican on May 25, 2026. According to sources, Anthropic is aggressively lobbying the independent nation-state about integrating AI consciousness into Catholicism. Olah believes that AI models should be allowed to think and feel as humans do, including participating in religious practices.

Rather than bending to the cash hype of artificial intelligence, Pope Leo XIV addressed Magnificæ Humanitas: On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence. He opened the encyclical with the following:

“Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together.”

The American Pope established five chapters to remind the world that any medium, whether physical or digital, can be used to subjugate the public eye for any means. He finds no exception in Anthropic’s ideology, as the dangers have been perceived under the negative influence of tech billionaires and global governance. He makes his message loud and clear in three of Magnifica Humanitas’ principles.

‘Safeguarding human dignity’ states that pressuring a person to adopt new ideologies or submit their will to high-power interests reduces a person’s will to exploitation. Pope Leo has demonstrated that, despite being born in the United States, he does not accept what the Trump administration has done to corrupt the nation by abusing executive power to further push its agenda.

He’s also aware of how AI-related products are marketed towards certain demographics, mainly the arts industry and the wealthy. Under ‘Technology must not be in the hands of a few,’ Pope Leo believed that artificial intelligence should be shared rather than restricted. He argued that humanity needs to learn and develop a better understanding as a whole, ensuring that future generations are aware of the advancements and setbacks to create proper guardrails that don’t benefit powerful leaders.

Finally, due to rising social discrimination in the United States, the American Pope addresses related actions, such as assembling ICE, as an injustice. Acknowledging how President Donald Trump has abused generative AI videos for crude purposes and to manipulate narratives, including the infamous Obama Ape video. In ‘Social justice and the litmus test regarding migrants,’ he identified that the technology is being used for profit over progressing scientific discovery and engineering advancements.

The AI Crusade Declaration

And if skipping the USA’s 250th birthday didn’t speak volumes to the Trump administration, Pope Leo’s social media post called for an AI crusade. His following statement currently speaks for the artists and cultural communities:

And Pope Leo is right, since generative AI is actively destroying credibility in original works. Another reason is that President Trump is continuing to use generative art and video software for profit and to disinform the American public with his administration’s perspective.

Declaring an AI crusade in this technological era also screams a cry for help from religious leaders who oppose the tech billionaires’ ideology. The world may soon experience a war after War Secretary Pete Hegseth mentioned establishing an Office of Religious Affairs in US defense operations.

His ‘State of the Force’ states that the soon-to-be military department will specialize in exercising freedom of religious practice. Despite saying they will not diminish someone for believing in one’s faith, it’s hard to take Hegseth’s word if President Trump depicted himself as the second coming of Christ.
