Liverpool Forward Mohamed Salah

All the speculation is over. Mohamed Salah has signed a new two-year contract extension with Liverpool FC that runs until the end of the 2026–2027 season. The star forward was entering the last year of his contract. This season, there had been rumors about him potentially leaving the club. Those rumors were silenced this morning with a new contract.

Salah Has Star Season

Liverpool’s Egyptian King has had a sensational 2024-2025 campaign. Salah has scored 32 goals in just 45 appearances across all competitions, with 27 being in the Premier League. This put him on top of all league scorers. Along with his goal scoring, Salah has also recorded 22 assists for his teammates, including 17 in the Prem, which also leads the league. The two-year extension he signed this morning means he will have a ten-year tenure with Liverpool when the current contract ends. Through his first eight seasons at, he has given this club and their fans some unforgettable moments.

Salah has transformed himself into one of Liverpool‘s greatest players since transferring to the club in the summer of 2017 from AS Roma. He currently sits in 3rd place in club history with 243 goals in 394 appearances . He is also tied for fifth place with Sergio Agüero with 184 goals scored in the Premier League.

From a trophy-winning aspect, since his arrival at Anfield, Salah has won 7 major trophies. From the Premier League and Champions League to the FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, and two League Cups as well. From an individual aspect, Salah has won the Premier League Golden Boot three times, an honor given to the league’s top goal scorer, He has been named PFA Players’ Player of the Year twice and received two FWA Footballer of the Year awards.

What does this mean for the Reds’ and their Egyptian King? With Salah, putting pen to paper and signing the extension, this means Liverpool will remain competitive in major matches and will continue to ensure they are one of the best clubs in the world. With seven matches to go, Liverpool sits atop the premier league as of March 11, 2025.

Winning it this season would be monumental considering that it is the first season under new manager Arne Slot. Jürgen Klopp decided to resign after last season. With their next fixture being at home against West Ham at Anfield this weekend, a win would increase the stranglehold the Reds have on the league. At this point in the season, the Premier League title is theirs to win or lose.
