The storm is here! WrestleMania 40 seemed like so long ago when Jade Cargill and Naomi teamed up to defeat Damage CTRL. Now, a year later, the one-time friends are now bitter enemies. Cargill will look for revenge against her former friend at wrestling’s Super Bowl. This is one of the more compelling storylines leading up to WrestleMania 41. Will Cargill finally get payback on Naomi? Will Naomi justify her actions? Will anyone else get involved in the match? Could this match affect both nights in Sin City?
The Naomi/Jade Saga

As I mentioned, these one-time friends, now turned foes, will be facing off on the grandest stage of them all. WrestleMania 41 will feature the matchup between the powerhouse, Jade Cargill, and the Queen of Glow, Naomi. This is one storyline that has been brewing for months and should have a great payoff at Mania. Cargill was attacked backstage back in November. Her lifeless body lay on the hood of a car with the WWE Universe questioning who was responsible.
After months of speculation and accusations against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, it was revealed that Naomi was indeed responsible. Naomi benefitted from the attack by joining Bianca Belair and replacing Cargill as the Women’s Tag Team Champion. Naomi later admitted that she had done it for Bianca and for them. The Universe was surprised by the explanation and was excited by Cargill’s return.
What Could Happen in this Match?
WWE Creative could take this match in so many directions and scenarios. Will Jade get her revenge on Naomi? Or will Naomi get the last laugh? A huge question mark is where does Bianca Belair stand? I would be shocked if the EST were not involved in some way. Belair already expressed she didn’t agree with Naomi’s actions, but what if there’s more to the story? What if Bianca rejoins her old friend? What if Naomi wasn’t the only culprit? We, the WWE Universe, have never seen a heel version of the EST, and what better first opponent for her than Cargill?
Another direction they could take is that Cargill absolutely destroys Naomi. This would cement her legacy and launch her into the stratosphere of superstardom. They could build Cargill as an unstoppable attraction that lashes out and destroys anyone who crosses her path. She has the look and believability of a Brock Lesnar type. Her presentation alone is impressive, and with the right creativity, you could have one of the most dominant forces in wrestling history.
Final Thoughts and Prediction
Even though I didn’t care for the segment in which Naomi pleaded to Bianca Belair about why she attacked Jade, the story is good overall. This match may not impress the internet wrestling community with a bunch of technical moves, but there’s plenty of intrigue. Jade Cargill has an aura about her and is a bonafide star. AEW enthusiasts should be pissed that they let this talent slip right through their fingers and right out the door. WWE has a diamond in their possession, it just all depends on how it is utilized.
The prediction for this matchup is, surprisingly, that Naomi will win. I think she will also get help from Bianca Belair turning her heel. This may have some implications for night two of WrestleMania 41. Imagine Bianca turning on her former Tag Team Champion partner joining Naomi on night one. Then, on night two, Jade returns in the triple threat match (where there is no disqualification) and completely destroys the EST. She could eliminate her from contention before the match even begins or at a pivotal time in the match.
