When you think of the greatest luchadores, who comes to mind? Many wrestling fans may go straight to Rey Mysterio since many consider him the greatest masked wrestler of all time. Others may turn to Juventud Guerrera, La Parka, or Psicosis. Well, El Grande Americano is making his case to be considered as one of the greats. The WWE Universe has witnessed the newest superstar (who definitely isn’t Chad Gable) for the past few weeks. Rey Mysterio will represent the LWO when he takes on American Made’s masked superstar. Will the true identity of El Grande Americano be revealed?
Will Mysterio Reveal El Grande Americano’s Identity?
The LWO and American Made have been feuding for weeks. So, it is natural for each faction to send their leaders into battle at WrestleMania. Rey Mysterio will represent the LWO, but it is surprising that Chad Gable has allowed El Grande Americano to take his place against the Hall of Famer. We have seen the two on-camera at the same time, so one could prove reasonable doubt. It is a shame that Chad Gable doesn’t currently have a match for WrestleMania 41 as of now. The emergence of El Grande Americano and his “loaded five head” finisher makes his matchup with Mysterio intriguing.
Mysterio is convinced that the newest WWE luchador is indeed Chad Gable. On the Raw, before Mania, he even tried to rip the mask off of Americano but was unsuccessful. It should be interesting if we get the reveal, we’ve been waiting for these past weeks at the grandest stage of them all!
Prediction
This may be the easiest match to call this weekend. El Grande Americano tries to use the loaded mask, but it somehow backfires, and Americano either gets disqualified or loses to Rey Mysterio. Then Mysterio gets in the position to rip the mask off of the great El Grande Americano, revealing… Yes! It’s drumroll, please… Omg It’s Omos! Just Kidding, of course, it’s Chad Gable. This angle is great, though! Chad Gable continues to wrestle great and be ridiculously entertaining.
Imagine this: after watching the WrestleMania IX documentary on Peacock, what if they revisited an old gimmick? In homage to Doink the Clown, TWO El Grande Americanos show up at some point! They could do the entire “mirror act” that we’ve all had the opportunity to rewatch in the recently released documentary. This would be the coolest thing they could do to tie the two together!
Final Thoughts
This is a super cool angle. The internet wrestling community is indifferent about the Chad Gable gimmick. People are calling it insensitive to the history of Luchador wrestlers. I really can’t believe this is a thing. Gable is doing magnificent work. He is a heel, doing heel things and doing them well. It would be great if they had someone else, so the reveal was not actually Chad Gable. At the very least, it should be an entertaining match. Gable can work any gimmick to perfection and deserves an Intercontinental Title run! American Made as a faction has a bunch of potential! The modern-day Team Angle could be dominant!
