Today is the day! The All-Star Open and All-Star Race are happening in North Carolina, and today, NASCAR fans will get not just one, but two races! Sunday brings all kinds of excitement for the All-Star Open and All-Star Race, both being at the North Wilkesboro Speedway. This is a short and intense track, and drivers have a $1 million prize in sight tonight! On Saturday, many drivers got a feel for the track during heat races, preparing them for Sunday’s races if they qualified.
The All-Star Open Starting Lineup
The first of the two races will be the All-Star Open, and the start time is set for 5 p.m. ET. The All-Star Open will be a quick 100 laps on the short oval-shaped track. Who Will Be the Top Two Drivers Today?
At today’s All-Star Open, the top two finishing drivers will move onto the All-Star Race that follows the Open today. The All-Star Race will also be at the North Wilkesboro Speedway, and is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Many will be watching, and some even experiencing the Open in person today! There are some great drivers in the lineup today, and it will prove tough to guess the winner and even more so to guess the top two.
While NASCAR did step away from the tight-turned track in 1996, it made a comeback with the All-Star races in 2023. Things have continued, and here we are in 2025, wondering who will win and if any records will be broken at the North Wilkesboro Speedway! Richard Petty still holds the record for the most wins at this track, a whopping 15 victories! The current race lap record for this track is held by Kyle Larson, with a record time of 0:18.362. Larson set this record in 2024 while driving a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
From the Open to the Race!
Tonight, you can expect a fast Open, filled with intensity on this short track with four tight turns. Each driver will be pushing their vehicles to their max potential, hoping to either win tonight or land in second place, taking them to the All-Star Race tonight! Who will the checkered flag fly over, and what driver will follow right behind the winner? Tonight’s All-Star Open is sure to fly by, but will definitely keep many of us on the edge of our seats.
