So many heartless people out there. Including, and especially some of our elected officials in this country. Really folks! I can’t make this stuff up. These are real live people who have been elected to serve the public in some capacity. God help us!
This time, the buffoon in question is the elected Attorney General from the State of Florida. Now this is DeSantis country so you would expect something that is not only heartless but truly idiotic to come from an official from this state. And I am happy or sad to say, you won’t be disappointed.
If I Only Had a Heart Florida AG
The subject in question is Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier. I am not familiar with this chap, and I had not heard of him until today. Mr. Uthmeier posted a video on X today about an idea for an efficient, low-cost detention center for illegal immigrants that could be funded very inexpensively because of an already present escape deterrent that exists at the site.
Curious? His diabolical plan is to site the facility in the Everglades whereby you could realize tremendous savings on security personal. Why you ask? Because in the AG’s own words “If people get out, there’s not much waiting for them other than alligators and pythons. “He even has a catchy name for the facility. He wants to call it “Alligator Alcatraz.” Heartless, no?
The 39 square mile area is located at the Miami Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport. The AG indicated that the detention center could be operational in 30-60 days and could house up to 1,000 immigrants who illegally entered the U.S. While the site is not technically in the Everglades, the presence of the airport would make it easy to fly in the detainees.
Who is This Heartless Wonder?
Apparently, Mr. Uthmeier is on a crusade to prevent immigrants from entering his state. On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams ruled him to be in contempt of court for violating her hold on a new Florida law that criminalizes undocumented immigrants when they arrive in Florida. In her order, she stated that the AG crossed the line when on April 23, he told police agencies that “there remains no judicial order that properly restrains you from making arrests under Florida’s immigration statute.”
Asked about Judge Williams’ order, Mr. Uthmeier stupidly replied on his X post.
“If being held in contempt is what it costs to defend the rule of law and stand firmly behind President Trump’s agenda on illegal immigration, so be it.”
Who is This Clown?
I’m sure it will not surprise anyone that Mr. Uthmeier is Ron DeSantis’ former chief of staff. Takes a clown to hire a clown. Also unsurprisingly, Uthmeier served as Ron DeSantis’ campaign manager for his wildly unsuccessful 2024 presidential campaign against Donald Trump.
Now that you know a little more about this guy, it might not surprise you that he could utter those cruel and heartless words. I don’t know about you but as for me, “keep me away” from the State of Florida until these hooligans vacant the premises.
