Emmy Tibits and Trivia,
Kathy Bates (77) is the oldest Primetime Emmy nominee for best actress in a drama series for her performance in CBS’ “Matlock.” She is the first person nominated in the category from a network show since 2019. And she would be the first winner since 2015. Also, Owen Cooper (15), nominated for “Adolescence,” is now the youngest person in history to be nominated for the outstanding supporting actor in a limited series Emmy.
This is Noah Wyle’s first Emmy nomination in 26 years for his portrayal of Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch in “The Pitt.” Wyle earned five consecutive Emmy nominations (but no wins) for his role as ironically another TV doctor, John Carter, on NBC’s “ER.”
