Nintendo is not known for dropping the price on its games. Head over to retailers and you’ll see that a new copy of Super Mario Odyssey, an eight-year-old game at this point, is still the $60 it was when it launched. This is a big piece of who Nintendo is. They don’t release unfinished games, and those games hardly ever drop in price.
However, the publisher will have sales sometimes. They’re probably not as useful as the PlayStation or Xbox sales which often let you get incredible games for a huge percent off, but it’s a chance to get some games for a Switch or Switch 2 at a discounted price. Right now, the Play Together Sale is going on, and some really good games are lower than they would otherwise be.
Nintendo’s Play Together Sale has a Few Big Deals

It’s rare that anything for Nintendo goes on significant sale, and while they don’t have a ton of first-party games available on the Play Together Sale, there are some good values here, including Diablo III: Eternal Collection for just $19.79. Mario Golf: Super Rush is $40 right now as well. You can get your hands on Kirby Star Allies for $42.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity + Expansion Pack is down from $80 to $56, which is good timing since Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is coming out sometime soon for the Nintendo Switch 2. The base game and the expansion pack, if you need one or the other alone, are also on sale for pretty low prices as well.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, another non-Mario 3D platformer like Donkey Kong Bananza, is on sale for $32. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is available now for $10. WarioWare: Get It Together is on sale for $40 as opposed to $50 full price. ARMS is down 30% to $42. These might not be Mario Kart World, but there are still a ton of good games available for a little bit off.
Some other notable deals include:
- Cuphead & The Delicious Last Course for $19.43
- Just Dance 2025 Ultimate Edition for $44.99
- Disney Dreamlight Valley – Enchanted Edition for $56
- Portal: Companion Collection for just $5
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 for $20
- Sunderfolk for $40
- Grounded for $20 with Grounded 2’s recent release
- Hyper Light Drifter Special Edition for $14
- Castle Crashers Remastered for $7.49
That won’t beat some of the other excellent games and prices you can get from Xbox or PlayStation, as mentioned. PlayStation’s Summer Sale has games like Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Hogwarts Legacy Digital Deluxe, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition, Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, and Skyrim Anniversary Edition on sale for 50% off or more.
Over on the Xbox side, Borderlands Legendary Collection, Far Cry 5, Dead by Daylight, Wolfenstein II, Fallout: New Vegas, Metro 2033 Redux, Fallout 4, Assassin’s Creed Origins, DOOM, Injustice 2, and Gotham Knights have similar 50% or more deals right now. Still, it’s always nice to get Nintendo games at less than they usually go for since it’s such a rarity. The quality is often high (as is the price), so take advantage of some of these while they last.
Final Boss
Much has been made over Nintendo’s pricing recently, whether it’s the $80 tag for Mario Kart World or their shocking price raise for the original Switch, an eight-year-old console. They are often driving prices up and leaving them there, so it’s good to take advantage of the few instances when the prices do go down. Plus, there are some hidden gems in there worth checking out.
