Border Czar Tom Homan is a proud member of Donald Trump’s Clown Farm. He would do anything for the almighty MAGA. Just like Sneaky Pete Hegseth and his purge of non-MAGA loyal employees. RFK Jr’s proposal to deceive people about the safety of vaccines. And little Stevie Miller’s turning what should have been a somber memorial service into his crazed tirade against the left. It never gets boring when Trump and MAGA Nation are around,
So here is one of the choicer nuggets regarding Homan from the past seven days. As always, there’ll be plenty more to follow.
Tom Homan, Border Nazi and Extortionist
We’ll start with our friend, Tom Homan, Trump’s border bastard. Now we know that there isn’t anyone or anything that Homan wouldn’t try to deport legally or illegally. But he was also interested in using his influence to line his own pockets. On Sept. 20 of last year, with hidden cameras recording the scene, Mr Homan, who was in Texas at the time, accepted $50,000 in cash to help agents, impersonating as businessmen, to secure government contracts during a second Trump administration.
The FBI and Justice Department were waiting for Homan to carry out his end of the bargain, but the case stalled after Mr. Trump’s inauguration. Then, in the last few weeks, the investigation was closed after FBI Director Kash Patel requested a review of the case. No reason was given for the closure, but a Trump Justice Department appointee referred to it earlier in the year as a “deep state” investigation. And according to sources, no more steps were taken on the matter.
The investigation initially started in Western Texas after a complaint was received that Homan was soliciting payouts for his assistance in getting border-related contracts awarded in a possible Trump second term. MSNBC reviewed the information compiled by the U.S. Attorney’s office in the Western District of Texas with assistance from the department’s Public Integrity Section and the FBI. This occurred after Homan boasted that he would play a prominent role in facilitating mass deportations during the next Trump administration.
Trump Administration Responses
When asked about the quashed investigation, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said,
“This matter originated under the previous administration and was subjected to a full review by FBI agents and Justice Department prosecutors. They found no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing. The Department’s resources must remain focused on real threats to the American people, not baseless investigations. As a result, the investigation has been closed.”
And this indignant response from White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson, who slammed the probe as a,
“Blatantly political investigation, which found no evidence of illegal activity. It is yet another example of how the Biden Department of Justice was using its resources to target President Trump’s allies rather than investigate real criminals and the millions of illegal aliens who flooded our country.”
“Tom Homan has not been involved with any contract award decisions. He is a career law enforcement officer and lifelong public servant who is doing a phenomenal job on behalf of President Trump and the country.”
To no one’s surprise, Homan did not respond to requests for comment.
Outside Evaluation
When MSNBC asked legal experts if there was a similar situation to the Homan probe, could the individual be charged with bribery? They all agreed that a person could not be charged under federal bribery statutes until they were named or appointed to such an administration post. If the person got the administration job and followed through with their promise, investigators could make a strong case to charge the individual with bribery.
Moral of the story: In Trump’s world, crime pays. Just ask Tom Homan.
