Yesterday was Fallout Day 2025, which meant the popular Bethesda RPG franchise got its chance to be in the limelight. Similar to Pokémon Day and others, it was a day meant for all sorts of announcements regarding what players can expect from the series in the near future. Sadly, while there were plenty of announcements, there was not a new game or anything remotely resembling one.
Fallout Day 2025 Announcements

There were several announcements made for Fallout Day 2025, perhaps the biggest being that there will be a Fallout 4 anniversary edition coming out. This is not a remake or remaster. It’s also worth mentioning that most modern gaming platforms already have the title. It’s even available on Xbox Game Pass, so this was a major disappointment.
It is also, for the first time, being released for the Nintendo Switch 2. Of course, there will be plenty of add-ons for this specific edition. Think of it like a Deluxe Edition, only that it’s 10 years old at this point. All six DLC packs will be available in this edition: Nuka-World, Far Harbor, Automatron, Vault-Tec Workshop, Contraptions Workshop, and Wasteland Workshop. It’s out on November 10.
“In addition to the add-ons, the Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition also includes over 150 pieces of Creation Club content, including some previously unreleased items to supplement your adventures,” associate art director Daniel Lee said via IGN. “And now, with this anniversary, we’re taking your experience to the next level because Creations are coming to Fallout 4. That means you’ll see even more new content coming to the Commonwealth.”
Fallout: New Vegas, a game much more in need of a rerelease or anything like that than Fallout 4, got a happy birthday shoutout on Fallout Day 2025 as well. Similarly, there will be a 15th anniversary edition released soon, including a Collector’s Big Box containing the PC version of the Ultimate Edition, a Vault Boy pin, Evaluation Cards, Mojave Express and NCR Recon patches, and a Victor Statue.
Fallout Shelter, the mobile game, also celebrated 10 years. Bethesda confirmed they will be adopting a seasonal model for the game in its biggest update yet, so even a decade in, this game is seemingly not going anywhere. Fallout 76 is getting another update soon, Burning Springs. Players will have to take on a king Supermutant bent on controlling the Wasteland. Walton Goggins’ The Ghoul from the TV show is also going to be a character.
Fallout Day 2025 Was Underwhelming
If you think that’s not a whole lot for a franchise celebration of announcements, then you’re correct. What it boils down to is a regular update for Fallout 76 and repackages of both Fallout 4 and New Vegas. That’s not all that interesting, especially when there’s so much potential for new announcements. These are basically giving players what they already have.
Fallout 5 is supposedly being worked on, but we’d never know since they didn’t say a word about it. The TV show’s second season is coming in December, but there wasn’t much mention. They could’ve showed a new trailer, an exclusive clip, or other things, but they didn’t. It went largely ignored the entire time.
Conclusion
Yesterday could’ve been a great day for Fallout fans, but instead, Fallout Day 2025 served as a reminder of how disappointing Bethesda can be. We’re now left just wanting more, which is a sad reality just one day after the live stream. Bethesda has won over players with their games, but lately, they’ve been pretty disappointing. This was, unfortunately, more of the same. Oh well, there’s always next year, we hope!
