The search for missing Texas teenager Camila ‘Cami’ Mendoza Olmos continues as her family cries out for help from the community. The 19-year-old vanished from her home early Christmas Eve morning. She walked out of her house with only her car keys, but her family assumed nothing was out of the ordinary as she took daily walks. Now, four days into the search, and no clues as to where she may be, her loved ones are panicked.
Texas Teen Vanishes
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook that Olmos was last seen outside of her San Antonio home on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, around 7 a.m. Video footage captured Olmos’s last image as she left the house; she was wearing light blue pajama shorts, a black hoodie, and white shoes. It shows her rummaging through her car before the camera cut off. Her vehicle was left at the house, but she never returned home. All she is believed to have on her person is possibly a driver’s license and her car keys.
The morning Olmos disappeared, she had been sleeping in the same bed as her mother, Rosario Olmos. Rosario felt her daughter get out of bed and did not check on her until 90 minutes later, when she did not return. When Rosario was unable to locate her daughter in the house, she called her phone, but found it turned off in the bedroom. She frantically searched the neighborhood, thinking her daughter may be on her daily walk, but had no luck.
CLEAR Alert Issued
“I thought I would find her like other times, walking, and we would come home together,” Rosario said. The mother continued making calls to family members and loved ones, including Olmos’ boyfriend and the teen’s father, who both said they had not heard from her. A missing persons report was filed, and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office issued a CLEAR (Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue) alert. They listed the teen as “possibly endangered.”
“I only ask God to please bring her back home,” Rosario told KENS5. “Bring her back to me.” Olmos’s friends and family admitted her walks were normal, and they would usually talk on the phone with her while she strolled. Rosario pleaded with the community to “Pray, pray, pray and ask from the heart, to God and the angels, and the Virgin Mary, whoever you believe in, to please for my daughter to return.”
Her friends spoke with KSAT and claimed this was out of the ordinary for Olmos. “It’s not like her. She’s always been the one to always stalk on us and like, ‘why aren’t you doing this?’ [She would] make sure that her phone’s always charged,” her friend Isabela said.
The community and Olmos’ family have been rallying together to search for her since Christmas Eve. Over 100 people joined in Bexar County, including relatives from across the country. “It’s been real hard,” said Olmos’ dad, Alfonso Mendoza. “Please come home,” he said. “Daddy’s missing you.”
Olmos’ brother, Carlos Mendoza, flew home once he learned of his sister’s disappearance. “We’ve been searching on foot within a three-mile radius,” he said. “I want her to come back.”
Last Words with Camila Olmos
Olmos’s childhood best friend, Camila Estrella, shared her last words with The Post after her sudden disappearance. Estrella shared that the two were on the phone the day before, making plans to go dress shopping and look for an outfit she could wear to her boyfriend’s family event. She recalled Olmos saying, “Bye Cami, I love you.”
The heartbroken friend said, “This is so random, we never expected this,” before adding, “She was someone that was just full of love.” The two girls spoke every day, and this incident has left a wake of desperation among family members, friends, and the community. “This was not a Christmas for us. It is a nightmare,” said Olmos’ aunt Nancy.
