There is a new hot coach who could use a fresh start. I am talking about John Harbaugh. The former Super Bowl winner was let go after 18 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens yesterday. With him being one of the best options this coaching cycle, his agent’s phone has already been buzzing. It was reported that within 45 minutes of his release, seven teams had reached out to show interest in Harbuagh’s services. Without knowing who those teams are, here are my top three teams that should do everything in their power to acquire Harbaugh!
Harbaugh To The Big Apple?

With the New York Giants firing Brian Daboll after a 2-8 start, it only makes sense that the Giants would be interested. After trading up for Jaxson Dart in the 2025 NFL Draft, the organization needs to find his running mate. We have seen the success Harbaugh has had with quarterbacks. He led a rookie Joe Flacco to the AFC Championship in 2008, in his first year as the Ravens’ head coach.
This would bring some legitimacy back to the head coaching position for the G-Men since Tom Coughlin. Since Coughlin was fired in 2015, the Giants have been on a downward spiral, with a record of 55-109-1. Their past two draft classes have been riddled with high-end talent with Dart, Abdul Carter, and Malik Nabers. Pairing those faces with Harbaugh as their head coach would be a step into competing in a dicey NFC East.
Harbaugh To The Music City?

The Tennessee Titans could be an interesting spot for a head coach who has the 14th most wins in NFL history. He would have the intriguing project of unleashing Cam Ward, who was selected with the number one pick last season. Harbaugh would get to start from the ground floor, as he did in Baltimore when he started. Well, kind of. The defense was elite, but they did have a rookie QB.
Here’s where the storyline would be oozing with tension. With the Ravens facing the AFC South next season, they will host the Titans. Could you imagine Harbaugh going back to M&T Bank Stadium as the opposing team’s head coach? The scenes. If he accepted this job as a rebuilding role, it could be an interesting fit. Give him a year or two, and they could contend with the rest of the division.
Two Harbaughs, One Division: Las Vegas Raiders

Here is where I would love him to end up. If John Harbaugh were to take his talents to the AFC West, that division could be the best four head coaches any division has ever had at once. When is the last time you can remember all four teams in a division having potential Hall of Fame coaches?
What makes this job appealing? This roster has talent. Vegas should not have had a 3-14 record last season. However, it might not have been the worst thing to happen to the franchise. They secured the number one pick, so Harbaugh will be able to have his pick of the bunch in terms of players coming out of college this season. If he is in love with a prospect like Fernando Mendoza, he’s got his QB for the foreseeable future. Allow John to mold Mendoza into a more mobile Flacco, and you might have something sooner than you know it.
Final Thoughts
With the Ravens and John Harbaugh getting a divorce, I don’t expect him to be out of work for very long. He is up there with Mike McCarthy as one of the best coaches available to be hired this cycle. Then again, if he doesn’t like any job out there, he could take a year off from coaching. Where do you see Harbaugh ending up?
