The Golden Globes, unlike the Emmys or the Oscars, are not restricted to one side of the visual entertainment medium. TV shines at the Emmys, while film reigns supreme at the Oscars. At the Golden Globes, both have their time in the sun. There were a ton of big winners on the movie side, but what about on the small screen?

2025 ended up being a pretty good year for television. Some of the shows didn’t make the cutoff for this year’s awards, but Pluribus, Stranger Things, Severance, Welcome to Derry, and more totally dominated the pop culture conversation during the year.

Most of this was as expected. There aren’t too many shocks, as The Pitt, Adolescence, and The Studio were expected to clean up at the Golden Globes. Some wins are pretty awesome, like Owen Cooper winning for Adolescence at such a young age or Rhea Seehorn capturing an award for Pluribus.

Conclusion

The Emmys happen in the fall, so the Golden Globes are essentially the big awards show for television to kick off the year. It’s awards season, but primarily for movies. Nevertheless, TV got its time to shine, and shine it did. Several of the most popular shows took home several awards last night.
