Donovan Mitchell, NBA, Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers roll past the Philadelphia 76ers 133-107. With the midway point of the season approaching, there’s no time like the present to get back in the winning ways. Currently the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference, the Cavs need to stack wins sooner rather than later.

Cavaliers DOMINATE 76ers

This was a domination from the opening tip. The 76ers would take a 10-9 lead early in the first quarter, but once the Cavaliers took the lead, they never looked back. Growing the lead to 30 points with a few minutes left in the game, it was a full team effort.

Donovan Mitchell led the game in scoring with 35 points, also tallied seven rebounds, and nine assists as well. Reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Evan Mobley, has a monster night as well. Mobley finished with 17 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, and five stocks (steals+blocks). However, they didn’t get out of the game unscathed.

Darius Garland would leave the game in the 3rd quarter with a right foot injury. Garland wouldn’t return, and the Cavaliers are waiting for a status update for their star point guard. Hopefully, it’s nothing serious, as these two teams tango again Friday night on ESPN.

Final Thoughts

We saw how dominant the Cavs could be last season, when they were the number one seed in the Eastern Conference before losing to the Indiana Pacers in the Playoffs. Do you think the Cavs are contenders for the NBA Finals this season or just a good team with a ceiling?
