Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls, NBA

The Chicago Bulls have retired one of the best players in the franchise’s history tonight. Derrick Rose was one of the most beloved players in recent NBA memory. His number “1” was retired tonight as they took on the Boston Celtics in Chicago. This game ended in the most poetic way possible. Let’s dive into the win!

Bulls’ Buzzer-Beating Win

Much like their improbable win against the Timberwolves, the Bulls entered tonight as the underdogs. They would trail at halftime 58-52. Coby White, for the second straight game, would make his presence known with 13 of his 22 points in the 3rd quarter. Nikola Vucevic had a great game as well with 16 points, seven rebounds, and six assists on the night. However, it would be one of the more unlikely heroes to step up for Chicago.

Despite Jaylen Brown’s dominant night, 33 points and eight rebounds, Kevin Huerter would hit the game-winning shot with .4 seconds left in the game to propel Chicago past the Celtics. That makes it back-to-back games in which Chicago needed to put on their clutch shoes. What better way would you want to honor a franchise legend than with a nail-biting spectacle?

Final Thoughts

This couldn’t have been a better ending for the Chicago faithful. Every basketball fan enjoyed watching Rose play and his high-flying ability. He might be one of the bigger “What If’s” in NBA history. What was your favorite D Rose moment, and do you think he deserved to have his number “1” retired?

As always, thank you so much for checking out my thoughts and instant reaction to Kevin Huerter propelling the Chicago Bulls to a 114-111 win on Derrick Rose’s jersey retirement night.
