The Boston Celtics went on the road to take on the Dallas Mavericks tonight. Rookie sensation Cooper Flagg has been on a tear and looks to continue his hot streak against Jaylen Brown, who has played like one of the best players in the NBA. With that being said, both had monster games. Let’s dive into the game!
Celtics Trample Mavericks

The Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks went to war tonight. Two of their stars went off in a battle between two of the league’s best. Cooper Flagg had a great performance with 36 points and nine rebounds. Doing that against an elite defensive team like the C’s is impressive.
Jaylen Brown, who has stepped up in the absence of their superstar, Jayson Tatum, was great tonight as well. He finished with 33 points and 11 rebounds. His supporting case was excellent as well. Payton Pritchard finished with 26 points and seven assists. This team could be a serious contender next season after their trade for Nikola Vucevic.
Reaction
I thought that both teams were great. Did I expect this game to be closer? Of course. The Mavericks looked good early on, but the Celtics took control and built a 20-point second-half lead. So was the score closer than what the game felt? Yeah, but the Mavs are a young team with much to look forward to.
Final Thoughts
As a fan of basketball, it’s always fun watching two stars go back and forth. From Jaylen Brown taking over to begin the game to Cooper Flagg taking over late, the scoring talent in the league is sensational. What did you think of the game? Lastly, how would you grade Flagg’s rookie season thus far?
