The Washington Wizards are making a move to acquire 10-time All-Star Anthony Davis for a package around Khris Middleton. This is interesting based on the makeup of both teams and what they could become moving forward. Let’s dive into the trade!
Wizards Trade for Davis
Washington is adding another superstar to their roster. After trading for Trae Young, they needed to add another splash in the Eastern Conference. They are trading with the Dallas Mavericks for Anthony Davis to pair with the 5-time All-Star for the foreseeable future. The transaction is around Khris Middleton and a plethora of young talent for the superstar. Here is the entire trade:

Reaction
For the Mavericks, it makes perfect sense. The team isn’t in a good place to contend for anything in the near future. This move was primarily about acquiring future assets to build around Cooper Flagg and see what they might move forward with. For the Wizards, you pair Anthony Davis with Trae Young, Alex Sarr, and KyShawn George. A talented young core that could make some noise in the inferior Eastern Conference.
Final Thoughts
This means in the totality of the Luka Doncic trade, the Dallas Mavericks received Max Christie, the 2029 Lakers’ FRP, the 2026 Thunder FRP, the Warriors’ 2030 FRP (if 21-30), and three second-round picks.
