The Patriots’ offense has taken one of the biggest jumps in recent memory. Is it because their second-year quarterback is developing and getting better? Yes. However, a key factor to their success is Josh McDaniels. This is his second stint with the team. If you remember, he was there with Tom Brady when they had a lot of success, and it looked like they were trying to replicate it with Maye.

Reaction

Just look at the jump in stats. Last season, New England ranked in the bottom three in points per game, passing yards per game, offensive touchdowns, and yards per play. Fast forward to this season, they rank 2nd in points per game, 4th in passing yards, 3rd in offensive touchdowns, and 1st in yards per play. That is a ridiculous jump. He turned Drake Maye into an MVP candidate in one season. Imagine how he will look moving forward.

Final Thoughts

I thought there was no other coach deserving of this award at the NFL Honors. With the award show starting in about 25 minutes, I am excited to see who takes home the remaining awards. Do you agree that McDaniels should have won the award?
