The Detroit Pistons avoided falling into a 0-2 series hole. In Game 2 against the Orlando Magic. After getting dominated in their first home postseason game since the 2018-2019 season, a statement had to be made. The Magic went into what was once known as “The Palace” and beat up on Detroit, 112-101. Let’s dive into how the top-seeded Pistons bounced back in Game 2!
Pistons Dominate Second Half

After being tied 46-46 at halftime, the 60-win Pistons jumped out of the gate in the second half on a 20-4 run. They outscored the Magic 38-16 in the 3rd quarter, which blew the game open. Their superstar, Cade Cunningham, had another excellent performance with 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 11 assists. His co-star Jalen Duren had a great bounce-back game after being a no-show in Game 1 with 11 points, nine rebounds, and a +21 when he was on the floor.
The Orlando Magic Stars Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Desmond Bane shot a combined 13 for 38 from the floor and 2/11 from three. They were dreadful. If the Magic want to bounce back in Game 3 at home, their stars need to play like it. Orlando was bullied and thrown around all night long.
Final Thoughts
Game 3 of the series is Saturday at 1 p.m. EST in Orlando. So if the Magic want to take a 2-1 series lead, it starts and ends with their superstars. What were your takeaways from Game 2? Do you think the Pistons will take their first series lead or will the Magic defend home court and play the song?
