Keldon Johnson, NBA, San Antonio Spurs

The 6th Man of the Year award has been announced. The San Antonio Spurs‘ forward Keldon Johnson has won the prestigious award. He joins Manu Ginobili as the other Spur to win the award. Johnson was stellar all season long for a team that won 62 games. Let’s dive into his impressive 2025-2026 campaign.

Spurs’ Johnson Wins 6th Man of the Year

Keldon Johnson played in all 82 games off the bench and averaged 13.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He also shot an exceptional 51.2% from the floor. It wasn’t just how impactful he was on the offensive end; he played great on the defensive end, with 2.6 win shares. When Johnson was on the court, the Spurs were a +7.3; when he was off, a -1.4.

He edged out the Denver Nuggets‘ Tim Hardaway Jr. and the Miami Heat‘s Jaime Jaquez Jr. All three of them had a strong case for the prize. Hardaway scored 13.5 ppg on 44.7 shooting percentage, and Jaquez Jr. averaged 15.4 ppg, 5 rpg, and 4.7 apg for the season. Johnson would have gotten my vote, and I think he deserved to win and be the first Spur to win it since 2007-2008.

Final Thoughts

This is one of the more interesting awards in the NBA every season. The star bench player who contributes the most to winning, but I want to know what you think! Do you think the voters made the right choice? Who would you have voted for?
