Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves, NBA

It seems the injury bug has turned its attention to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Their young superstar, Anthony Edwards, left last night’s Game 4 of their first-round series against the Denver Nuggets. He went up to contest a shot at the rim and hyperextended his left knee. With their superstar going to miss time, what does it mean for the Timberwolves?

Ant-Man to Miss Time

After falling to the ground after hyperextending his knee, Edwards tried to get back to his feet, but couldn’t walk under his own power. The Timberwolves‘ training staff helped him to the tunnel before sending him back up the tunnel and ruling him out for the remainder of the game after halftime. Ant was diagnosed with a bone bruise and a hyperextension in his left knee. This is heartbreaking for a team that has dominated the Nuggets over the past three games.

Timberwolves Chances the Rest of the Postseason

The T-Wolves are playing well enough to finish the job and get past Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. Ayo Dosunmu is playing with his hair on fire. Over the last two games, he’s averaging 34 ppg on a ridiculous 72% shooting from the floor. Jaden McDaniels is taking the soul out of Denver, and it’s showing on the court. I believe they will get past the first round, but if Edwards can’t return for the rest of their postseason run, they will lose to the Spurs in the second round.

Final Thoughts

This is so heartbreaking if this is the way their season ends. To lose Donte DiVincenzo to a torn Achilles tendon within the first two minutes of last night’s game, then Anthony Edwards right before halftime, is terrible injury luck. Game 5 will be Monday Night at 10 pm EST in Denver. Do you think the Nuggets will win Game 5 or will the Timberwolves win their 4th straight and end the Nuggets’ season?

As always, thank you so much for checking out my thoughts on the Minnesota Timberwolves’ chances the rest of the postseason, potentially without Anthony Edwards!
