The Cleveland Cavaliers have found themselves back in the series after winning Game 3! With the home team winning every game this series, this Eastern Conference Semi-Finals matchup hasn’t begun. After the Detroit Pistons clawed their way back in the 4th, James Harden turned back the clock to seal today’s win. Let’s dive into Harden’s late-game heroics!
Harden Seals Cavaliers Win

After a dominating first half, the Cavaliers led the top-seeded Pistons by 17 in the second half. After that, Detroit would go on a 22-5 run to take a 76-74 lead deep in the 3rd quarter. The home crowd would get right back into the game with an offensive onslaught from their two best players in the fourth quarter.
James Harden scored 9 of his 19 points in the final frame and iced the win with a vintage side step three with just 25.9 seconds remaining to put the Cavs up by four. His running mate, Donovan Mitchell, scored a game-high 35 points, also with 9 in the 4th quarter. Pistons‘ superstar Cade Cunningham did all he could with a 27-point triple-double, but it wasn’t enough.
Final Thoughts
This was an excellent game between two of the Eastern Conference’s best teams. Game 3 was the reason the Cavs made the trade for James Harden at the trade deadline. He wasn’t himself in the first two games; maybe a clutch performance will get him back to his normal ways. What were your takeaways from Game 3? Will the Pistons answer back in Game 4, or will the Cavs even the series up?
