This weekend, the WWE Universe will see if the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania 41, is indeed LA Knight’s game. The Megastar will defend his US Title against the Samoan Werewolf Jacob Fatu. Fatu has been a destructive force to be reckoned with since arriving on the WWE scene. He will be looking to end Knight’s (YEAH!) second reign as US Champion, earning himself his first solo (no pun intended) championship.
Both superstars are over with the WWE Universe, and it should be a great matchup. Can LA Knight (YEAH!) defy the odds of the Bloodline 2.0? Or is Jacob Fatu simply too much for the Megastar? Will Solo Sikoa and/or Tama Tonga get involved?
Jacob Fatu Earns Title Shot at LA Knight
In the past several weeks, we have seen Fatu viciously attack Braun Stroman. Not many have gotten the best of the Monster Among Men, but Fatu seems to be an exception. He was successful in a last-man-standing match against Stroman to earn the right to face Knight at WrestleMania 41. With Fatu’s aggressiveness, can LA Knight (YEAH!) successfully retain his title? Not to mention, wherever Fatu goes, you know Sikoa and Tonga aren’t far away.
LA Knight (YEAH!) has been on the rise since arriving on the main roster. With his combination of in-ring ability and gift of gab, the Megastar has won over the crowd almost since day 1. Not quite day oneish, but you get it. He is currently in his second reign as the US Champ and should be destined for a higher ceiling. Knight could easily be in the World Heavyweight picture. And he deserves to be there. The guy brings an element of trash talk on the mic we haven’t seen in a while.
Is LA Knight Destined to Drop the Title?
WrestleMania 41 will witness many title changes, and this will be one of them. The only way Knight retains his title is if they decide to break up the team of Solo and Fatu. Otherwise, Fatu will become a first-time singles champion in WWE. He has been fabulous since his debut in the company and is a future main eventer. Fatu should become champion, and who knows if Solo will become jealous or if he will fall in line with a Fatu-led faction.
It will be interesting to see if Solo and Tama Tonga will be at ringside for the match. Of course, they will be involved somehow, but I could see Fatu telling his family to stay back. He will be a handful for LA Knight (YEAH!) on his own, but with the family backup, it seems like an impossible task for the Megastar.
Final Thoughts
These are two of my favorite current superstars. In my opinion, LA Knight (YEAH!) should have already been a World Champion contender, and Jacob Fatu is definitely the future face of the company. I am hoping that this match is not only great but will also be the first of many. This could be the start of a rivalry similar to when The Rock and Stone Cold were fighting over the Intercontinental Championship and later rivaled over the main title.
Regardless of who wins this match, I will be happy with the result. The loser, as weird as it sounds, should be involved in the main event picture soon. I would even go as far as to say one of these guys should win next year’s Royal Rumble match. This isn’t the most intriguing match on the card for the weekend, but it involves two guys that I am very high on. Both deserve the chance to main event a WrestleMania in the future!
