The WWE Universe has been buzzing for weeks since the infamous “off the script” promo was delivered on Smackdown. In a feud that may have lacked a story, it is now one of the hottest angles in wrestling. The Queen, Charlotte Flair, will be challenging for the Smackdown Women’s Championship against first-time champ Tiffany Stratton.
Tiffy has her hands full in her WrestleMania debut against the greatest women’s superstar of all time. The Queen, however, will be in her 8th Mania match with a record of 4-3. Will the clock strike midnight on Tiffy Time, making Charlotte a 15-time champion? Or will Stratton successfully defend her title, giving her the ultimate WrestleMania moment?
Charlotte Flair’s Road to WrestleMania 41
Flair returned at the Royal Rumble, and to no one’s surprise, she entered and won. The Queen became the first woman to win her second Rumble match putting her in the same category as Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena, Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton, Edge, Brock Lesnar, and Cody Rhodes. Charlotte decided to challenge Stratton on the grandest stage of them all. It was somewhat surprising that Tiffy was her choice when known rival Rhea Ripley was holding the other title at the time.
This angle between the two didn’t seem to have much flair (pun intended) until a few weeks ago on Smackdown. The “off script” promo went viral within the Internet wrestling community. Charlotte seemed rattled and frustrated with the crowd basically booing her out of the building.
Then things got personal. Tiffy mentioned how Flair may be a 14-time champion but was 0-3 in marriages. The Queen, notably, is recently divorced from fellow WWE superstar Andrade, ending her third marriage. This is a case of like father, like daughter. Flair would then comment that Stratton’s offscreen boyfriend, Ludvig Kaiser, has been in the Queen’s DM’s.
Who Leaves as Champion?
The question is, does Charlotte leave as a record 15-time Women’s Champion, or is it, in fact, Tiffy Time? Tiffy should win this match. This is the perfect opportunity for Stratton to prove that she belongs by beating the greatest women’s superstar of all time. If Charlotte loses to Tiffy, it will elevate Stratton into legitimate champion sphere. She is currently getting a top 5 pop in the company every time her music hits. As JBL says, “Sometimes you just have to throw some gas on the fire.”
Flair has been at the top of the women’s division for close to a decade. Although she tries to regain the Women’s Championship, it doesn’t need to happen at WrestleMania. By giving Stratton the win, it not only gives her credibility but solidifies her debut at WrestleMania as one of the best ever. WrestleMania season could be the “Tiffiest time of the year!”
Final Thoughts
Please, please, please don’t give Charlotte Flair this match. WWE Creative needs to listen to the fans on this one. The WWE Universe just booed Flair out of the building. The constant need to have her on top as champion is getting old. Give Tiffany Stratton the push and have her defeat Charlotte at WrestleMania. It would create a seismic buzz.
Tiffany would always have that under her belt, and it will add to her already flamboyant character. There’s a lot more to gain with Tiffany winning than having her lose and pushing her down the card.
