After a decade-long hiatus, the return of EA Sports College Football 25 took the sports gaming world by storm. Now we are right around the corner from this year’s release of the popular video game. College Football 26 is set to release to the masses on July 10th. If you can’t wait for the 10th, gamers can preorder the revived franchise and get a special release date three days earlier on July 7th.
Madden’s “younger brother” had great success with its return generating $500 million in the first week of sales. Every game can make improvements year by year and here are a few that EA can make particularly in the Dynasty Mode.
3 Ways to Improve Dynasty Mode in College Football 26
Transfer Portal
The revival of the College Football video game saw its first rendition of the Transfer Portal. Obviously, in the most recent edition of the game back in 2014, a transfer portal was like an unconceived child. It was just a twinkle in the creator’s eye. Now it is brought to life in real time and digitally. The portal in 25 played a very similar role to the recruiting process. You could scout, send the house, and convince the transferring player to attend your respective school. In 2026,
I would like to see players be more selective about which schools they would like to transfer to. Give each student-athlete three to five schools they are interested in. I would also like to see the athletes select schools only if they would be an immediate starter. Most college football players transfer schools due to a lack of playing time, so why bring in a kid for him to be in the same situation he was just in?
Include NIL
What year is it? Oh yeah, it’s about to be 2026, and if you haven’t heard, we’re now paying college athletes. Name, image, and likeness should be included in this year’s game. I am the type to take a less prestigious program and build it up, but should I get as many perks as a collegiate powerhouse? I don’t think so..
Perhaps you don’t have the brand to attract a 5-star recruit or transfer, so you may need to rely on an NIL budget provided by your boosters. That would not only add an extra layer to the offseason but could be realistic and fun to raise and disperse the budget.
Top-25 and Playoff Rankings
The main thing that irked me about College Football 25 was the top 25 ranking throughout the season. You can see teams with four losses in the top 25, which is very unrealistic. If you are like me, you try to mimic the real thing, but in your own universe. When three and four-loss teams have a chance at the CFP (College Football Playoff), it takes the reality out of the game.
The implementation of strength of schedule and having realistic expectations to be in contention for the playoffs would help tremendously. We are far from the days when teams needed to go undefeated or have only one loss to have a chance to win a National Championship. This is the biggest improvement EA Sports could make for this upcoming year.
Final Thoughts
When I tell you that I loved College Football 25, I played the sh** out of that game! I finished an entire 30-year Dynasty Mode career, playing 97% of the games during this time. These three added or improved features will bring even more realism and joy to the gamer.

July 10th can’t come soon enough! I enjoy my summers, so college football can take its time arriving in the fall, but I’m ready to game in good weather!
