Today, Proxies were introduced to the Zenless Zone Zero 2.2 update, with their new characters present. They introduce a new part of the story, their abilities, and some new events coming to the game. For those who don’t know, Zenless Zone Zero is a game made by HoYoverse, the same people who gave us Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. But now, let’s get into a summary of what was shown in the livestream “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Goodnight.”
Zenless Zone Zero 2.2 – New Characters
Obol Squad is introduced again, with two new characters coming in Zenless Zone Zero 2.2. First, we will start off with their Heavy Weapons Expert, Seed. Seed is an S-Rank Electric Attack Agent. Seed is said to thrive with other attack agents to take control of the battlefield and maintain it. When in a team with another Attack Agent, Seed will select the one with the highest ATK as her Vanguard.
When her Vanguard uses their EX Special Attack, Seed enters the Onslaught state, in which her ATK and CRIT DMG will increase. When Seed uses her EX Special Attack, her Vanguard enters the Direct Strike state, allowing the Vanguard to get the same buffs. When both Onslaught and Direct Strike states are active, both Agents enter the Besiege state, further increasing their DMG output.

Next up is Orphie and Magus. They are an S-Rank Fire Attack Agent who also assist an Attack unit. While off the field, while the on-field agent attacks, Orphie and Magus will attack with lasers using their Energy and build up Bottled Heat. Once they have enough Bottled Heat, they will activate their ability Crimson Vortex and bombard the enemy with lasers.
With enough energy, you will be able to fire a continuous laser with Magus that will increase in damage as it keeps firing. If you parry with an enemy while using it, it will become stronger and gain an invincible window. When a Laser from Heat Charge hits an enemy, all squad members gain a Zeroed In effect, which will boost all members’ ATK. If a character used Aftershocks, their duration for Zeroed In is extended.
In Zenless Zone Zero 2.2, Seed will arrive in Phase 1, with Trigger coming in as well. Orphie and Magus will be coming in Phase 2, with Evelyn returning. Seed’s W-Engine, Spectral Gaze, and Orphie and Magus’s W-Engine, Heartstring Nocturne, will be arriving as well with Triggers and Evelyn’s Engine also returning.
Two new Bangboo will be coming as well, one from the Outstanding Partner Channel called Mercury and another through an event called Excaliboo.
