One of the NFL’s most interesting players could be on the move. With the Indianapolis Colts allowing former 4th overall pick Anthony Richardson to seek a trade, it is almost assured that he will be traded within the next few weeks. More than likely, it will happen before the NFL Draft. He has shown a lot of flash and potential, but his limited availability has kept him off the field the past three seasons. Here are three teams that should look into his services for the 2026 season.
3. Face of the New Era – Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers would be an interesting landing spot for Richardson. With the franchise turning over from Mike Tomlin to Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers’ future with the team in the air, the Black and Gold could look into the dynamic quarterback. Even if the franchise brings back Rodgers, it wouldn’t hurt to bring in a 23-year-old to compete with Will Howard for the future of the team.
With this team not having a franchise quarterback since Ben Roethlisberger, the search is on for the next field general who will lead them into the next iteration of the team. Pairing AR with an offensive coach who has worked with some of the best players of all time might be what he needs. Maybe McCarthy can work some of his magic and develop Richardson into a full-time starter in the NFL.
2. Savior of the Purple & Gold – Minnesota Vikings

Here’s an interesting one. With the lack of consistency at quarterback, it might persuade Kevin O’Connell and the Minnesota Vikings to add to a less-than-desirable quarterback room. Despite the team drafting JJ McCarthy with the 10th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, he has been injury-prone and inconsistent in his starts.
Not that Richardson has been the best in his either, but when you have a “quarterback wizard” as a head coach, maybe he can squeeze the juice that hasn’t been pulled out of him yet. He would be walking into one of the best situations with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and an above-average left tackle. Lastly, we’ve seen players resurrect their careers in Minnesota before. Just look at Super Bowl-winning quarterback Sam Darnold.
1. NFL’s Best Landing Spot – Los Angeles Rams

The best place any quarterback should go if they need to revamp their image in the NFL is the Los Angeles Rams. Will Richardson start immediately or compete for the starting job? No, however, to learn under reigning MVP, Matthew Stafford, and one of the best offensive coaches in the league, with Sean McVay. They have been one of the best organizations in the past 8 years and don’t appear to be slowing down.
Stafford is in the tail end of his career and will retire within the coming seasons. That means that if AR can come in, learn, and develop, before we know it, he could be the starting quarterback for the Rams. They’ve got the weapons, Puka Nacua, Kyren Williams, and an offensive line that never seems to be subpar. If he could just work on his consistency, he’s got all the talent in the world to be a starting quarterback in this league and potentially the next player McVay turns into a superstar.
Final Thoughts
To say Richardson’s NFL career has been a disaster is an understatement. It shows that a player can have all the talent in the world, but if he can’t hit the “layups” and stay healthy, it doesn’t matter where he was drafted. You will need a change of scenery. Where do you think Anthony Richardson plays football next season? Is he even a starter in the NFL anymore?
