Take-Two is about to publish perhaps the biggest game of all time from Rockstar Games. It’s been 13 years, and anticipation for GTA 6 continues to build ahead of the November 19 release date. That could be viewed as an apex for the developer and publisher, but according to their latest fiscal report, it won’t be. It will be just the beginning.
Take-Two is Ramping Up After GTA 6, Not Slowing Down

One could view GTA 6 as the pinnacle of gaming achievement for everyone involved. Assuming it’s not a total letdown when it launches, it will be the biggest launch ever and one of the most successful and played games of all time. But that’s not the end of the line for the publisher or the developer.
According to ScreenRant’s Paul Farrelly, Take-Two and Rockstar Games are set to release a whopping 29 games between 2027 and 2029. Of course, this number is heavily inflated by the annual releases the brands have under their umbrella. Take-Two has WWE 2K, PGA Tour 2K, and NBA 2K, among others, to help pad the numbers. Those come out every year, and that’s not going to change now since they remain highly successful every single time.
That doesn’t cover everything, though. Per the report, there are three games from brand-new IP on the way and 15 from existing IP. For now, we don’t know what those games will be. Judas from BioShock creator Ken Levine has no release date, but it’s highly likely part of that 2027-2029 window. The same is true of free-to-play shooter Project Ethos, so those are two of the three new IPs.
It’s impossible to predict what the 15 games from existing IPs are, but it’s easy to get excited about the possibilities. They reportedly include complete remakes, sequels/prequels, and major platform extensions. That opens up a world of possibilities.
Take-Two has several exciting game franchises it can utilize:
- BioShock
- Borderlands
- Mafia
- Civilization
- Max Payne
- Red Dead
- Shrek
- Duke Nukem
- Midnight Club
- Risk of Rain
- Grand Theft Auto
That means there could be a remake of BioShock Infinite or Red Dead Redemption. There could also be a new Red Dead game or yet another Borderlands sequel. Max Payne could make a return, as could Duke Nukem. The possibilities are somewhat endless and extremely exciting.
We could also see older games ported to newer consoles to bring them to a modern audience, since that was mentioned specifically as part of the plan. Plenty of the above franchises mentioned have been around for a long time, which means there’s ample opportunity for classics to return.
Currently, nothing is concrete except for the reported numbers. We have no idea what the 29 games will be other than the expected releases of games like NBA 2K27 and WWE 2K. Outside of that, it’s anyone’s guess, which will lead to rampant speculation until Take-Two reveals what they have planned.
We do know that there are plans for a fourth BioShock game, but it’s currently in development hell, which means it could be years before it’s released. It would be a little surprising, given how the development has gone thus far, to see it part of the upcoming three-year plan for Take-Two.
Conclusion
Despite GTA 6 being probably the biggest game launch of all time later this year, it’s not going to be the end for Take-Two or Rockstar Games. Both are seemingly ramping up with this launch, and they’re expected to be rather busy during the three years that follow. We don’t know exactly what’s coming, but we can expect a lot of gaming content from the studios under that umbrella between 2027 and 2029, which is exciting news for gamers everywhere.
