The NBA’s all-time leading scorer is on his way to the City of Brotherly Love. LeBron James has signed with the Philadelphia 76ers! He joins Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Jaylen Brown to form the newest “super team.” This has the potential to be one of the most talented teams in the NBA. The King has found his newest Kingdom. After a long offseason and being linked to the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Golden State Warriors, he has chosen to take his talents back to the Eastern Conference. King James is signing a two-year $8 million contract with a player option in the second year. With arguably the greatest player of all time taking this low of a pay cut, it gives Philly room to fill out their bench.

I love it. As a LeBron James fan, this is where I wanted him to end up when it was announced that he wouldn’t return to the Lakers. I didn’t believe that the Heat would provide enough scoring to contend. Golden State would have been fun, but nowhere near close to a title. Cleveland was too much of a feel-good story to end his career. This is exactly where he needs to be to chase his 5th championship.

Final Thoughts

For the 76ers, this instantly puts them in title contention. Signing LeBron moves them up to the second-best team in the Eastern Conference. The only team that argues the conference is the New York Knicks. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt due to their NBA Finals performance, but I can’t wait for opening night!
