Gunnar has a wide variety of gaming glasses available, and with the latest crossover with Fallout: New Vegas, they might have dropped the pair you need. If you’re looking for comfort, style, and fandom, Gunnar is absolutely the place to go. They were kind enough to provide me with a set of the iconic glasses for review, and here’s what I thought.

Gunnar’s Fallout Lucky 38 Glasses Review

First things first, the comfort level of the glasses. If you’re a gamer, you likely have some lengthy playthroughs that could last for hours on end. If you’re going to wear a pair of glasses during that time, they’d better be comfortable. Fortunately, the Fallout Lucky 38 glasses are quite comfortable. Eventually, you begin to forget they’re even on your face.

Of course, I wear glasses all the time, so perhaps I’m a bit biased. But after a short amount of gaming, they felt as native to my face as my everyday glasses, despite the difference in shape and other factors. They’re comfortable, which is a huge win. No one would want to do anything in a pair of uncomfortable glasses, let alone some that are on the expensive side.

The design is the next big thing. While most gaming sessions are solitary or with a small audience of people around, fashion is crucial. The design of the Lucky 38 gaming glasses is of high quality. The lenses are good, and the frames are thin, which only adds to how good they look when worn. As a bonus, they do look like something straight out of Fallout: New Vegas, so they’re fun and beautiful.

The third thing to consider, of course, is the price. Now, $99 for a pair of glasses is not cheap. However, when you factor in the quality of the design, how good they look, and how often avid gamers will use these, thanks to the reduced strain and enhanced visual comfort, it’s not as exorbitant as it seems. All in all, it’s not a bad deal, especially if gaming is something you do frequently or is important to you. There can be no cost put on comfort, convenience, and quality for something like that.

This doesn’t have as much to do with the glasses, but the case is also excellent. When storing the Gunnar x Fallout glasses, you get a nice, leather case with Lucky 38 engraved on it. They will look good even when sitting on your desk next to the PC, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch. That makes them sort of a collectible, so even when you’re not wearing them, there’s some value to be had.

All in all, these glasses are the perfect addition if you’re a fan of Fallout in any way. If you’re not, they’re still a very nice pair of gaming glasses that could make gaming sessions a little more enjoyable. Plus, the actual glasses are designed in a way that’s not overtly Fallout. In other words, you might not realize they’re themed for a specific game unless you look really closely.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t playing Fallout: New Vegas or any other Fallout game while testing out these glasses. That would’ve been quite fitting. I was playing Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, which is seeing a resurgence in interest thanks to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, and Rounds, a criminally underrated PvP multiplayer game.

Regardless, whether you’re playing New Vegas, Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil: Requiem, Fortnite, The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, or anything else, these glasses could be exactly what you need. For long gaming sessions, brief playthroughs, and everything in between, consider Gunnar x Fortnite, which has a few other excellent pairs of glasses.
