A Wiseman, a best friend, and a manager walk into a bar… Wait a second, could all three of these be the same person? The answer is yes, and the person is Paul Heyman. Heyman finds himself as the prettiest girl at the dance with three unique gentlemen all wanting to take her home.
The Wiseman’s Tribal Chief, the OTC, Roman Reigns, will take on his former Shield brother, Seth Rollins, and first-time WrestleMania main eventer CM Punk. Paul will be in CM Punk’s corner, but who will he leave with? He essentially has his choice between the blonde, the brunette, and the redhead.
Who Will Leave WrestleMania as the Main Heyman Guy?
Paul Heyman finds himself in quite the predicament regarding WrestleMania 41. He will start the match in his best friend CM Punk’s corner to start the match. Outside and after his ECW days, some, if not most, fans consider CM Punk one of the first “Paul Heyman guys.”
The video has resurfaced of him telling Punk that the day he main events the grandest stage of them all, he would be in his corner. Now, why is this relevant? Well, if you happened to be living under a rock the past few years, Heyman aligned himself with the Tribal Chief, creating the “Island of Relevancy.”
The Original Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, has had the services of the Wiseman for his historical 1,316-day reign as champion. Reigns looked to Heyman for help in War Games back in November against the Bloodline 2.0 led by Solo Sikoa. This is where he would turn to an old friend, CM Punk, to even up the odds. Notably, Paul asked Seth Rollins first, but the former Architect of the Shield declined. Punk helped the OTC stand victorious but also reminded his best friend that he would owe him a favor of sorts.
Who’s Got the Favor of the Week?
As Paul Heyman got on his knees at the contract signing to give CM Punk the good news of headlining WrestleMania 41, it was revealed that wasn’t the favor Punk wanted. The “Best in the World” then cashed in on his favor by saying that Heyman would represent him in his corner. Despite Reigns ordering his Wiseman to tell Punk off, Heyman refused. The “Voice of the Voiceless” then admitted to the Tribal Chief that he wanted to take the former champ out of his comfort zone.
The Tribal Chief was not happy with his Wiseman, and after shoving him to the ground, Punk came to save his old friend. After the scuffle, Seth Rollins had an opportunity to curb-stomp the frail Heyman but spared him. Rollins then looked him in the eye and said, “Now you owe me a favor.” I am really not sure if that’s how favors work, but hey, it’s wrestling, And I love it!
Final Thoughts and Prediction
In a way, this match makes no sense to me. Why is it a triple threat? Why isn’t it Roman vs Seth or Seth vs Punk? Punk just helped Roman in War Games, and I understand he eliminated Reigns in the Rumble, but still. Until a couple of weeks ago, I thought Heyman would leave with Rollins at the end of the show.
Now I am questioning it because they are making it almost too obvious that it will happen. Roman, looking sad seeing Paul and Punk together as if he were seeing an ex-girlfriend with her new lover, is great TV. The only person that makes sense in this match is Seth “Freakin” Rollins, so he is my winner and my prediction to win the Paul Heyman sweepstakes.
